We love going to Cannova's.
The food is good, especially for this area. It is tasty! The positive is that so much of the menu is clearly made from scratch and in-house. The challenge is this sometimes means inconsistent flavors from visit to visit. Still, the offerings are diverse and everything has been good!
The service is generally friendly and the servers are consistently the same people, which is a good sign. Sometimes there are boss-employee conversations happening awkwardly within ear shot of customers.
The atmosphere is what really makes Cannova's shine. It is cozy and the live music makes for a uniquely enjoyable dinner experience. Cannova's is great for a date, a family dinner, or a dinner gathering with friends.
We highly recommend Cannova's.

Maybe, just maybe the best Pink Vodka sauce with Italian Sausage I've ever had. And I live 1900 miles from this restaurant. Server Sam was efficient and friendly...and a Freeport native which only added to this Midwest experience.

Food was good, table service as would be expected, bill was $56.70 gave a $100 bill, change was $38.06, pointed out error to server, asked if i wanted to take it up with the cashier, said I don’t think i should need to do that. Short while later waitress returned say she had shorted me $10. Did any of these people graduate grade school ? Will find it difficult to return anytime soon

The quality of food is excellent. My preferred order item is the Sicilian Filet. The only steak option on the menu, and it is all they need to offer. Great pizza options, pasta selections are solid for a quality Italian eatery. While I don't drink, it appeared as if the alcohol pairings were varied enough to meet most pallettes. The only downfall to the restaurant is the parking. It is small and often difficult to navigate. The serving staff is engaging and courteous. There is often live music in the form of the piano players, which I appreciate, but some may find a bit too loud.

We are from out of town, but we look forward to stopping here each time we’re in the area. We love the atmosphere, it gives a romantic classy vibe (unusual for the area). The food has been consistently good each visit. We enjoy the pizza a lot- we do wish they offered beef as a pizza topping, they have only pork options and chicken. The bread is very good and soft. The Alfredo also is good. We look forward to trying other pasta dishes in the future. Tiramisu is a must!

Good food, and atmosphere!! Would have thought for $25 for a chicken Alfredo proportions would have been slightly larger, but overall a great experience and would be back!

Me and my Grandparents came here every week for years. Spaghetti and Pizza is amazing! They changed the bread recipe which is sad but the service, music, and food is always amazing. 10/10. Larry was always the best!

Attended a birthday celebration and all I have to say to the owners & staff is if you can't handle a large party (25+) then don't say you can! It was so chaotic that it was difficult to enjoy the party! Also, the seating in the back room area is very old and honestly unsafe. I know it's a long standing establishment in the community but they need updates BADLY! Not to mention the fact they kept the kitchen door propped open with a bucket (health code violation?)so who knows what kinds of critters get in there. The food was outstanding but the service and atmosphere over shadowed that.

Good food. Pricey. Great tirimasu. If dining in call ahead and make sure no one will be playing the piano during your visit. I went there on a Friday and the piano drowned out the waitress from hearing our order or answering questions. Conversation was not possible. The food was good but the loudness of the piano was grating.
My wife and I arrived at 4:55 and we're first in the door when they opened at 5:00. We ordered right away, we ordered the stuff pizza which the menu said it takes 35 minutes to cook. At 5:45 the waitress brought us some bread because it was taking so long. At 5:55 the owner (I believe) came to our table and said you guys have been waiting way to long, I am going to give you a coupon for a free pizza. We finally got our pizza and it was very good. We talked to the owner as we left and he gave us 5 coupons for our trouble. Well, it takes 10 coupons to get a free pizza so all we have to do is drive back to Freepot 5 more times and buy pizza to get the free pizza he said he would give us.

Absolutely hands down worst experience ever. First they bring out cold bread. I’m not talking room temperature, I’m talking out of the fridge/freezer cold. Secondly, I ordered lasagna, most bland, tasteless food ever. Finally, server was not at all attentive to us. Never came to refill my drink. Never came back with check after being asked multiple times. We literally had to get up and go to the register and let them know we’d like to leave. they ran the server down who then had to come to the register and put in our check. the only good thing about our visit was the live piano, that was it.
