Ice cream is great!, service for food horrible, you're sitting at a table waiting for your order and nobody ever comes I walked out of that place three times three separate times, cuz I was not waited on.. then you wait in line then they tell you to have a seat and they'll come to you, and three times not nothing..

8/29/2024 5PM whatever crew you have running it at this time, they rock! Great people, good attitudes, clean place, went back for a second order on some things and they were awesome about that, the cook who made the loaded fries and cheese curds, amazing job best loaded fries we’ve had in awhile, and the servers that’s served the ice cream were super cool and made sure we had everything we wanted/needed. I don’t usually leave reviews but these guys earned it, Thanks again!!!

This used to be a great place. Not anymore. Waited awhike for my food, and daughters never came. Couldnt get her food because tgey had closed down tge grill. Third time in a month ive had this qeality of customer service. I will not be back.

I visited this place with my wife earlier this month primarily because it was highly recommended by the Freeport Art museum director as a nice nostalgic ice cream/hamburger shop. Truthfully I was not impressed, the food was average for two basic meals. I had the chicken sandwich & my wife had a cheeseburger, it was no different then we could have made at home. But the prices were not in line for a basic meal. We asked for napkins with our meals & our server, a little blonde haired young man casually referred us to the paper towel holders hanging around the restaurant. (The kind you find in public restrooms.) I just felt that could have been better on the premise that they sit just outside of where the famous Lincoln/Douglas debate took place.
Rude waitstaff, complicated ordering, and overpriced food fried in dirty oil. A local establishment trying to compete with corporate franchises just needs to do better. You won't skate by on community goodwill forever, no matter how much nostalgia people have for the place.

I don't leave reviews but this place was terrible. Everyone was rude and unorganized. The food was very expensive for something that tasted like it was from a grocery store. All the fried stuff tasted burnt like it was made in old dirty oil. My hotdog bun was split in half and was very clearly from a Walmart $1 pack of hotdog buns. The staff was rude. It felt like everyone's first day. They talked to us like we were stupid. We spent like $100 there on gross food and basic ice cream. I've never been so disappointed and wanted to leave a place as fast as I did there. Just go to Culver's or something. This place isn't worth it.
