Smoking fish is a tough business. Schafer Fisheries, Inc. is still in the smoking fish business after all these years.... Oh, they got some fresh fish and a lot of frozen products as well, but smoked fish is what we were after today. Smoked fish is what we got today. Nice little perch fillet and a sturgeon slab as well. YUM!!!
Open during COVID. Fish that were caught locally are smoked on the premises. Perch, carp, sturgeon, salmon. No frills, very clean. Helpful staff. Near the entrance to Lock and Dam 13 of the Mississippi River.

Finally stopped in to try some smoked fish. Had the smoked salmon and it's the best I've ever had. Almost a two hour drive but we like the drive, definitely will be back soon.
