Me and some friends went there Sat Feb 15th and there were about 3 tables in there and one waitress. Which is fine BUT no one acknowledged us for like 10 mins. Even went and got our own menus. I said to my friends what do you have to do to get some service around here? And the table next to us said, You would have to leave. So that is exactly what we got up to do and then a waitress said oh I’m sorry your server was really busy but is free now. After being there for 29 mins now total and nothing was so happy to go to the Galena Brewery where we had to wait to be seated and was sat and acknowledged and had order all within 10 mins. Nachos and a wrap. Great service and food at Galena Brewery!!

My family and I stopped in for an early dinner after a day of shopping in Galena. It is a dive bar, clean but still definitely a dive bar, so not a place I would usually choose to go with my small kids, but my husband insisted they had great food. Our waiter was prompt and friendly. Food took a very long time to come out and there was 10 people total in the place. But once we got it, we could see everything was fresh and made from scratch, so worth the wait. I got a Philly cheesesteak, hubby got Italian beef and kids burgers. I expected the food to be fine, to fill our bellies. But it was delicious!! Probably best Philly I've had, steak was so juicy and well seasoned. Rave reviews from rest of family. They could definitely improve the fries - they were bland and soggy. Crisp them up, add a pinch of seasoned salt and the meals would've been 5 stars. I was definitely pleasantly surprised by this place.

absolutely horrible. the service, the food everything. server was rude, wrong, and awful. zero service at all. did not tip because i couldn’t get myself to pay anymore for this meal then required. SHOULD HAVE WENT HOME!!!!!

The Italian beef was excellent. Service was slow even though they were not busy at all. Drinks were never refilled. Noise from the tvs was really loud.

The waiter appears annoyed she has to serve us. Forget everything we asked for on the order. Burger is very bland with no seasoning of any kind. You can't pay with credit card. So we pay the extra fees so they don't. Had to make them remove the extra charges for items they didn't provide. Bar food can be good but not here.

Normally I check restaurant reviews before visiting but my phone reception wasn’t great so I guess it’s partly my fault that we ended up with a very bad meal. I ordered a mushroom Swiss burger and hubby ordered a cheeseburger with bacon. Both came with fries and cole slaw.
The fries were sort of bland and not crisp, but they were the best part of my meal. The burger would have been good if it was cooked properly, but it was red and raw in the middle. Hubby’s burger was well done, which is a little weird as they were both ordered at the same time. The worst part of the meal was the coleslaw which tasted rancid. Hubby ate a bite of his and said it wasn’t good, I took a bite and spit it out. Disgusting. And as many reviews have pointed out they are cash only but there aren’t any signs to let you know before ordering.

We walked in for lunch and were told to choose our table. When it was time to order we ordered tacos, a Philly cheesesteak sandwich, buffalo shrimps, and a chicken salad sandwich. When we got our food, we thought everything was fine until we saw that they had switched our buffalo shrimp with breaded shrimp. We had order shrimp tossed in buffalo sauce and when we informed the waiter she told us that the buffalo sauce on the side. The menu clearly stated that the shrimp was tossed in sauce. Then when we were not even half way done with our meal she handed us our receipt and it felt like she was rushing us out of the restaurant. Then I ordered a Cona beer but when she came back she had given me a Corona beer. When she came back again with the receipt(the receipt said that I had ordered a corona), I told her that she had given me the wrong beer and again she told me that it was Cona and that it was only the receipt that said corona. Throughout this experience the waiter was very patronizing and told us whatever we said was wrong.

My fiance and I went to Galena and someone said to check out Paradise Grill. So, we stopped here to check it out and see what people were talking about. They had sign outside about the best bloody marys ever. My fiance loves them in general. We walked in and looked around, it was crowded. No one greeted us, we ended up sitting at the bar. Ordered with older gentlemen a bloody mary and another drink. They came to us. Bloody mary was cheaply done tasted horrible. The other drink had to been watered down. We were disgusted. The older gentlemen under his voice said a total of $9. My fiance gave him a credit card. Older gentlemen said sternly "we don't take cards, just cash and check." I looked at him and said "there was no sign anywhere that that is how it is. " The older gentleman didn't care what we had to say. I had to walk 3 blocks to my car to get cash for drinks and attitude from this place. He told me there was an atm by the door. Clearly my card wouldn't work there. I would never recommend this place to anyone unless you can take attitude and disappointment. The amount turned from $9 to $19 when I paid him in cash. Unbelievable!

The server gave me the wrong plate. After I ate a few fries and stuff, they gave me my plate, which is fine. But gave the first plate to the right customer. Now that is wrong. They should have made a new plate. Plus, I had to use their ATM, which cost $3 for a fee. Because they only do cash.
