This experience was the farthest thing from paradise. My friends and I are visiting from out of town and saw this restaurant, thought it looked good, and decided to give it a try. It was an interesting experience from the start. The woman serving looked like she could have used some help. We ordered and were looking forward to our food…when a man who seemed to work for this business sat near our table and stared at us. Not in a “am I reading into this” moment but a “where is my pepper spray this is the 7th circle of hell” type of way. He inserted himself into the conversation our group was having and went out of his way to make everyone at our table uncomfortable. At one point a member of our group went to get more water, the waitress asked if we were on break, to which she said yes, because we are in service public educators who are entitled to a week of rest and relaxation, this will come back later. At the end of our visit, a member went to get our checks and she replied “I’m too tired. You guys are going to have to figure it out” and when my friend turned to leave she said “ugh college kids” to another PATRON of the bar (rude because we are NOT IN COLLEGE, and if we were, who CARES. Let people live girlfriend). We complied and paid in cash, which by the way, was the only form of payment accepted. This wasn’t made explicitly clear to us, but thats already. It’s super common to carry cash in 2024.Also, is it unsanitary to have half dead frogs behind your bar? TBD…Overall wouldn’t recommend. Rude staff member, weird staring man, and low rate service. Save your money and pepper spray.

Cozy, neighborhood vibe smack dab in the middle of heavy tourism. Excellent new pretzel bites on the menu and great cold pours of fireball and crown apple on the ready. Other entertainment includes a couple of African albino frogs in An aquarium that like to mate, shuffleboard, and even an old still operating mega touch machine. Like many places in Galena, they are cash only.Kid-friendliness: One of the only restaurants in Galena that actually has booster chairs for kids of that size.Wheelchair accessibility: It’s hard to find restaurants with access on the sidewalk level in Galena, but this one and others on the east side of the street are level with the sidewalk so most of them you can get in without a step.

Due to several other places being closed, we stopped here for lunch and regretted it.They promote having the best Bloody Mary, and they use Zing Zang which mix I like, but all it contained besides mix and vodka was 1 olive and a bedraggled pickle. Not terrible but not at all impressive.I orderd a burger medium rare and my friend ordered one medium. Both came out the same: medium well, burned on the outside, super dry. Couldnt even eat it.

They promote having the best Bloody Mary, and they use Zing Zang which mix I like, but all it contained besides mix and vodka was 1 olive and a bedraggled pickle. Not terrible but not at all impressive. I orderd a burger medium rare and my friend ordered one medium. Both came out the same: medium well, burned on the outside, super dry. Couldnt even eat it.

Poor service, slow, pretty sure the food was all frozen stuff. Only positive is that it's cheap, but you get what you pay for. Plenty of better options to choose from.

First thing you should know is this place doesn't take cards so if you do go bring cash!!! I didn't know that until after we ate and I had to use their ATM and pay them a $5 fee plus a $5 fee to my bank for using an out-of-network ATM. So an extra $10 for the privilege to buy their food. The food was OK I had a grilled chicken sandwich... the chicken was good but the fries sucked they served it with plastic utensils that bent and broke... all in all, not a good experience.

Gnats flying around everywhere. All around the bathroom and all around the food/bar-disgusting. Surprised by “cash only” but our fault for not reading the sign outside. Regardless, the amount of gnats witnessed on the toilet and food will never entice us to come

What a great place to eat. Food was prepared and served "perfect & hot". Hamburger was the best ever & served with a great bowl of home made Chili instead of fries. Loved that combo! Beware, your credit cards cannot be used as it's a cash only bar. Sat at window overlooking Main Street in Downtown Galena...nice view for lunch. Go there for lunch friends ... You will enjoy! Well Done Paradise!!!!Parking: Off Street parking only. Private Lots about 1 block away.
