Food was very tasty but could have been a bit warmer. Our server was excellent but I've forgotten his name unfortunately. Would definitely recommend!
We always enjoy this restaurant. We ordered the Bruschetta, which is amazing, for an appetizer. We shared an entree, Baked Seafood Fettuccine. Delicious, and a generous serving. The salad is always fresh and delicious. The dressing is outstanding. We always buy a bottle to take home. The garlic bread is also outstanding. Vinny Vanucchi's never disappoints!
Food was ok. Didn't blow me away by any means but was good for the most part. The room we're in was very noisy. That didn't sit well until some of the crowd left. The server was the big disappointment for our dinner. Not very attentive to our needs and didn't even offer us a dessert menu. Plus we were there celebrating a birthday! The staff at the hostess stand at the door greeted us and the gentleman brought up the fact about the birthday. You would think the waiter would mention it and at least offer us a dessert menu? Will we return? Possibly but not likely as we found much better places to dine in the area. I'm not one to complain often but this was a disappointing visit for all of us.
The garlic bread is to die for! Everything that passed our lips was exceptional! Make this place a top priority to eat!
Food was very good. The only disappointment was that all of our food came way too quickly after having been asked if we had decided on our meal within a couple of minutes of being seated. We were early into our salads when our main meal came. We really didn't have time to enjoy the experience. Also, we were celebrating our anniversary which the hostess acknowledged but our waiter apparently never knew or acknowledged. Food was very very good, especially the lasagna.
The veal parm was inedible. They must've been experiencing a paucity of sauce because there was little to none. If the waiter had been the least bit accommodating, we would have brought the problems to his attention, but getting his attention would have required more energy than I was willing to expend. Overpriced and overrated.
It has been a while since we dined in Galena, great restaurant and great food, parking is the only down side of going to Galena, we dine early and there is always a problem with that, otherwise great evening.
We visit Vinny's at least one time each time we visit Galena. The food and service is excellent.
Great service and atmosphere. Good appetizers. However, Had chicken Marsala and could not eat it, I don't even know if it was chicken. My husband's tortellini was runny. Awful! We were here a few years ago and was good. Very disappointed especially for an anniversary dinner!
It was just ok. The garlic bread was very oily. I was expecting a more upscale ambiance. Example the silverware was the type of silverware you would get at low end restaurant/ bar. At the prices I paid I expected linen napkins quality silverware. My chair was ripped and table was wobbly. Again I expected a much different experience. Not a fan !! I will say food was ok not great just ok. I would try other places before this place.

Decided to cap off my wife's two-day BDay celebration with the 7 friends and family remaining in Galena after big Friday night BDay party of 30.. Chose Vinny's and boy was it special! First off, the food. Italian sauces and pasta were all homemade (from Grandma's recipe we later discovered from her GDaughter) plentiful AND delicious. If you like homemade meat balls as I do, get the side order! And oh my, if you like Garlic bread, they make it special and serve it by the boatload! We took some home! But the BEST part was our server - Grayson an unbelievably charming and delightful young lady. As we always do, we asked her what her story was? (Try it sometime, you w/be amazed). Former professional dancer, married to a former British soccer dude, both called into weekend service by her Irish “Da” (as they say in Dublin) who owns Vinnie's with wife's family. Turns out she danced in Chicago for the Troupe run by a very famous lady (Mrs. Bataille) who taught just about every little girl (including my daughter) in our hometown of Barrington. My son and I could not believe it. Then my Argentinian-born D-I-L (who happens to be a 50+ year old soccer player and fan of British soccer) went nuts over Ben, Grayson's hubby. You can't make this stuff up - probably one of the best meals from a cuisine and ambiance meals any of us have ever had. Highly recommend it!
Lots of options. Portions are large as expected. Definitely overpriced for mediocre food. Wine selection was also mediocre. It's got pretty good atmosphere in the multilevel building. Lots of stairs so be aware. It's fine if you're craving some pasta and have a little extra money to spend.
Food was really greasy and so so. The building was super cool. I thought it was going to be a little more upscale. If you're looking for cheesy, greasy casual Italian, it's great. The service was really good though
The food was excellent. Our server however was not as good. He never checked in to see how things were. We needed additional bread and he clearly brought us bread that was not fully baked. We spent a lot of time trying to get his attention.
Awesome place for a great Italian meal. If you travel to the Galena area, don't miss this gem
