Unfortunately we had a horrible customer service experience. Leaving negative reviews literally hurts my heart, but this was too icky to ignore. There are soooo many cute spots in Geneva and I would recommend checking one of those out over The Alchemist. The food and are drinks are extremely pricey but the service experience doesn’t match.

We were told by staff to walk along the bar to check for any empty seats, couldn't find any and walked back to the front. While talking to the front server about wait times for a table another waiter yelled at us and told us off for 'being in the way' we pointed it out to the staff we were talking with and they just shrugged it off. I get that being a waiter is stressful, but dude, I'm not your anger management. And having a 'it's just how it is' attitude isn't how a place should be run.

I have been here many times and it is always a great experience! The oysters are amazing. The cocktails are delicious and creative and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable! We came in 9/6 at about 10:15. We ordered a round and never saw our waiter again after the drinks were brought to us. At approx 10:45 I went and found the waiter and asked if we could get one more round and was told no. Service was not up to usual par. Would have been nice to have a last call! But the drinks galloping Guatemala’s and San Dia were incredible! Thank you!

Amazing food and service every visit. I love to relax on the patio and eat their high quality oysters with delicious tinctures .The mussels and Tuna are amazing too. Love this place.

Took my daughter here for food and drinks. We have been here several times in the past and enjoyed the vibe at the bar. The food tonite was amazing as usual but the service was lacking. The well bartender acknowledged us with a “what can I get you to drink?” Drinks were great as usual but we just couldn’t get past the lack of care in the service. The bar staff talked to each other while patrons other than ourselves had empty drinks in front of them. I think they were training a new hire and most of the attention went to that. The new hire finished her shift and sat at the bar and the bartenders paid attention to her very much like the old bartenders paid to their guests in the past. The manager didn’t seem to notice. Very sad to see. Next time we will opt for a table.
First time visitor - stopped in because I love their sister restaurant The Walrus Room. Overall vibe was great, wasn't super crowded which was good given they do not work off reservations more of a first come first serve style. Initial service was good, drinks and water were brought out within a reasonable time frame. Order some shareables, focaccia, beef kabobs, and fries. Food was delicious! Sadly, we cut our visit short. When our server came back around I asked for a drink, a margarita with a splash of chambord. Waited, and waited, by this time my water glass is empty and so is my husbands. She came back around a few times not noticing the empty water glasses and obviously forgot about my drink. It wasn't busy, because I could see her at the bar from my table. Finally got the check and did let her know she forgot my drink so we were wrapping up. Things happen but this is your job.
