The 1st hour was terrific. We were celebrating our anniversary. Then a very loud group of four were seated right behind us. They obviously had been in the bar before coming to dinner. The remainder of our time was spent in silence since we couldn't hear each other. No fault of the restaurant or staff. Just self absorbed rude customers.
Atwater's is my favorite place to meet friends for a quiet lunch. The atmosphere is lovely, the view of the river is beautiful, it is usually quiet enough to have an enjoyable conversation, the food is delicious and well priced, and the service is impeccable. Highly recommended!
The setting was lovely. We ate outside. There was only one server when we arrived and she was working incredibly hard. We appreciated her efforts. Eventually others arrived to help. My steak was not cooked as I requested but I wasn't about to send it back because I felt like it might've taken awhile to get it. By the end of the meal everything was lovely but there were some bumps in the road. For us, on our 35th anniversary, it was not the special dinner we had hoped...
