Cocoa Bean has always been my absolute favorite bakery! Their pastries are exceptional as well as their quiches that are so delicious! I love to give a box of
their beautiful pastries as a special gift.
They make wonderful Holiday boxes of cookies as well, for every season. I always buy a box of cookies to treat myself every holiday since I have no time to bake!
It’s a great place to relax and indulge
🥐🥮☕️🥰

I ordered two cakes for a family member’s birthday. When I picked them up I was greeted with “huh.” That was a bit abrupt but I explained why I was there. The woman went over to the refrigerator and had a long conversation with another employee. She finally brought my cakes to me. Saying nothing, she showed them to me. I expressed concern that they had strawberries on them. We have strawberry allergies in my family. I recognize that it was my fault for not mentioning that issue in advance, but her response was to tell me the total cost. No concern, no thank you. Not a word. And the strawberries were brown. I won’t be back.

We absolutely loved our sweetheart cake from The Cocoa Bean in Geneva! The team was wonderful to work with, and the cake itself turned out beautifully — both gorgeous and delicious. It was the perfect centerpiece for our special day, and we couldn’t have been happier with the outcome. The only hiccup was that when we went to pick up our cake on the wedding day, it wasn’t quite ready yet, and we had to wait about 45 minutes, which required a slight adjustment to our schedule. Even with that small delay, we would still highly recommend The Cocoa Bean to anyone looking for a stunning and tasty wedding cake!

Got a few desserts to try. The fruit tart was horrible. It was eggy beyond belief. That eggy taste was nauseating. Chocolate tart was ok but too sweet and so dense. Mouse was mediocre at best. Cheesecake was nice but the chocolate bit of the cheesecake was overall sweet. It wasn’t good. Everything was too sweet and too dense, there wasn’t any lightness you associate with patisserie. It’s a shame, we had high hopes. Staff are great though!

I am extremely picky about pastries - hands down, Cocoa Bean has the best croissants and chocolate croissants I have had in Chicagoland - maybe the best I’ve had in the US. Absolutely fantastic!

Food is amazing - IF you have time to get there in the small window that they’re open.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Cocoa Bean Bakery. I initially called and spoke directly with Paul to place a cake order, during which I clearly stated I would follow up with an email including a reference photo. I sent the email as promised, and received a reply that made it clear Paul had no recollection of our conversation. I replied again, confirming the cake type, size, and restating the details — including my full first and last name exactly as I gave it during the call, along with my phone number.

The next day, I received a phone call from Paul — not to clarify or ask questions — but to yell at me because the email used my maiden name. He claimed he and his manager had been searching for the order and insisted that I needed to fix this issue. Then, to top it off, he hung up on me.

This level of unprofessionalism and outright rudeness is unacceptable. I’ve never encountered such poor communication or customer service from a business, especially one that relies on customers for custom orders. I will absolutely not be returning, and I recommend others think twice before trusting this bakery with your special occasion.

I ordered a couple of birthdays that were not ready
for pickup. Paul the chef/owner volunteered to
deliver them to my animal hospital & dog groomer
the next day. The veterinary hospital & the off
site dog groomer were thrilled with the cakes.

This is one of the best bakeries in Geneva if not the world! There is just something special about every pastry made here. The almond croissants are my personal favorite but I’ve never had anything bad from here. The quiche is another notable item but once again, you really can’t go wrong at cocoa bean! Truly one of the best!!

My wife's favorite Birthday cake is their Isabella. Year after year, Cocoa Bean makes us a perfect cake. This year I was late to pickup and they closed, but they still let me in to get our cake. Also love their croissants and pretty much everything else. Top notch bakery with decent prices and friendly service. What else could you ask for?

The best almond croissants 🥐 However sometimes the centers are still too doughy and wet.

Cozy bakery with delicious options for breakfast and dessert. I bring my kiddos here and they often give them a free little cookie when I order a warm beverage (usually chai tea) and a mini quiche. My kids also love choosing a little dessert (they’re all amazing) and the almond croissants! I’ve also ordered lager to-go quantities for parties!

Parking: They have their own parking (about 4-5 spaces) and some street parking nearby. It’s usually not full, but can sometimes get a little busy.

Cake was made extremely messy they tried to fix it and it was obviously not able to be fixed and being the day of we decided to take the cake. I called afterwards to express how I paid extra for it be decorated and that I was disappointed they didn't even try to make the piping the same thickness all the way around or connect some of the lines and the owner hung up on me and was arguing with me. The cashiers working were nice and trying to help and he would not let them. The last photo is what I showed them originally.
