First time coming here and we had a really nice time. Our server was very friendly and the portion sizes are pretty big. We got fried scallops for appetizer which they were OK. Nothing special probably wouldn’t order again. The egg drop soup was very flavorful and for our entrĂ©es we got the duck and the Hong Kong steak. steak was very tender and juicy. The duck delicious would definitely come back and recommend this place for some good Chinese food.

I went with my wife and two sisters, great food and a nice atmosphere. I can only tell you about the food I had, an egg roll and pineapple beef. The egg roll was large and very good, stuffed with shrimp and a hint of peanut butter flavor. The pineapple beef was delicious, the beef was very tender with bell peppers and pineapples. Everyone enjoyed the dinner. The one thing that bothered me was the tip was included on the bill, didn't learn of it till we paid the bill. I was surprised that the tip was put on the bill of four people, and the waiter never mentioned it. The bill came to $107 and change. Before we knew about the tip we were discussing how much to leave. We would have left more tip than was included, oh well.

We dined her this past Sunday. Some of the food was disappointing. Some of my chicken pieces were dry & hard, like it was old. My daughter told me that our cart of food was sitting there for at least 5 minutes. Our crab puffs barely had filling. Food wasn't very hot. The bus boys only clear off tables after the guests leave the restaurant. They need to be trained to clear empty dishes off of the tables that people are done using and keep the water glasses filled. Service was slow tonight. There was plenty of staff working at 4 pm on a Sunday for the tables that had people dining there. The last time we were there the service was very bad too with a newer young waiter and we were seated in the back room. We had a lot of dishes piling up. Please train your bus boys to keep the dirty plates cleared off the tables and the water glasses filled. This will give the waiters to be more attentive to getting drinks refilled and food out on time.

I already knew Gen Hoe has the best Chinese food I've ever had in my life, but being a take-out guy I had never experienced their outstanding service. Enjoyed a fantastic meal in-restaurant ordering the dinner for four. On top of that, my wife left her purse behind and the owners courteously kept it safe until I could retrieve it days later with all money and belongings intact. Thank you Gen Hoe!

Ordered SA Dae beef... TERRIBLE....the meat tastes sandy and the texture is worse than stew and the sauce flavor is disgusting.
My son ordered orange chicken, they had some types of tiny chopped up vegetables with it, which is not t you typical. On top of that the chicken tasted stale and almost had microwave taste. Needless to say, good bye for good.

I never cared for Chinese food until a friend suggested we go to Gen Hoe. That was more than 40 years ago and I've been going back ever since. The food is absolutely the best - the portions are generous - and the servers are magnificent. And always a special treat is to chat with Mrs. Lee, the original owner. She is still working hard every day to please her customers. Highly recommend you give Gen Hoe a try!

My wife and I had our first date here 33 yrs. ago. I enjoy new restaurants and different trends in the food industry but it is also excellent when a restaurant withstands the challenges of time and competition by focusing on core quality. I loved the Hunan chicken entree, paper chicken appetizer and egg roll. My wife immensely enjoyed the shrimp kow and won ton soup. The dining room could be updated but conditions were clean and comfortable. Lasting quality!!!
