We enjoyed the great selection from the pick two menu. We dined inside. Our server was amazing. So bubbly and kind. We are eager to go back. The food was delicious.

Had an wonderful experience at The James for Father's Day. Our first time there and there were so many amazing things on the menu. Our server, August, was amazing! He navigated us through the extensive menu and was super helpful with suggestions. We'll definitely be going back! The food was also amazing!
Just adding it here as a suggestion... the only negative in the experience, and not worth dropping a star for, was the bus boy on that day mumbles and there were several times when we had to ask for clarification on what he was asking. He was super nice and polite.... just had a really hard time understanding him.

I LOVE The James! Great food, attentive service, and we were in a lovely, comfortable room that met our needs perfectly. I recently arranged for a group of 10 friends to meet for dinner and honestly am always a little nervous about how it will go for a group this size. The staff (especially Rachel) took EXCELLENT care of us and treated us very kindly. The food is some of the best in Geneva. I had a pork dish with ginger that was amazing! We loved that we were in a smaller room instead of enduring the noise of the larger rooms we usually find in restaurants. We could easily hear each other which was so lovely. We will be back soon!

Excellent food and service!

I had the slider appetizer, lobster bisque, prime rib dinner, and tres leches cake. The sliders were the best I have ever had anywhere. The prime rib was excellent and I recommend it. I did not really like the tres leches cake all that much though.

We've been wanting to try The James since it opened and finally went for lunch this past weekend. They have a large outdoor patio where we enjoyed our lunch. We had several appetizers: brie, cheese puffs, bbq brussels, and eggplant spend. They were all delicious and we all had different favorites. We all followed this up with the you pick two. The quality and amount of food you get is amazing on the You Pick Two. Their unique take on the BLT was the best sandwich I've had in along time. Others enjoyed the the Thai chicken salad, prime rib and fish sandwich. The BLT & Thai chicken were the most unique. They also have interesting seasonal salads to choose from. I would highly recommend making a visit. On weekends they have live music on the patio which sounds like a great way to enjoy your meal. We will be back!

Outstanding experience from start to finish! Charlie’s service was exceptional, and his wine and side recommendations were perfect. The prime rib and filet were both cooked to perfection. We’ll definitely be back! Great job on the Manhattans :)

The service was OK considering the prices of the restaurant dinner for FOUR was $400. They expectations were definitely a lot higher. The lobster bisque was more like a fish soup. The steaks were super small as part of the $200 for two dinner. The lobster was extremely dry. The only highlight were the brussels sprouts and the wagyu sushi. Everything else was definitely subpar. It was a late reservation so the restaurant definitely wasn’t busy. The waiter was nice, but whoever was assisted the waitress. She was mixing plates and just dropping things on the table like she just didn’t care like I said my expectations of this restaurant were a lot higher considering it was a birthday/Valentine’s Day dinner at over $400 for four people definitely not going back. Definitely hard to recommend considering the quality and the food.

Have been here twice for lunch and we all totally enjoyed it, this Saturday night was a different story. Our waiter struggled to open our bottle of wine and I mean really struggled. The food was mediocre and service was horrible. We had to keep stacking dirty dishes on the counter of our table because they weren’t clearing our table. The restaurant was not that crowded that we shouldn’t have gotten top notch service for the price we paid. Stick to lunch on the patio and you shouldn’t be disappointed.

Never got an experience. Clearly they have an outdoor bar visible from the sidewalk. The hostess reluctantly said we can sit there, and the indoor bar was close? (On a Saturday afternoon???) then no one greeted us. A guy (possibly the bartender) said hi from a distance then continued to ignore us and disappeared ? we left went to Barrel & Rye. Instant greet with water and less than 1 minute followed up with taking our order. Being bougie means exceptional customer service without judgment or excuse.

Our waiter had wonderful recommendations such as the crispy baby brie which was amazing and the manager Ms. Chanel was very nice and understanding! The whole vibe of the place was just so comfortable, the outdoor area was really nice.

We booked a private room for my mom's 60th birthday party at the James and it was an awesome experience. We worked with Chanelle who was responsive and there was a lot of collaboration to make the day special. We feel that she and the chef went above and beyond for us - I even requested they make a dessert not in the menu and it was not a problem. On another important note: my mom and several of the guests are vegan! The James made sure we had enough options and the portions were generous and looked amazing. Thank you so much!

Brought my in laws for a pre anniversary dinner. Had a 6:30 reservation and checked in two minutes early. Was told by host it would be a fifteen minute wait. We were seated and not visited by a waiter for almost ten minutes, another ten minutes before getting water. Service was incredibly slow, we put in drinks within 10 minutes of being seated and did not receive them till 45 minutes of sitting there and had to check in on them multiple times. Appetizers came out, had to track someone down for plates. Main course was put in shortly after drinks and took 1.5 hours. When they brought the entrees they gave my MIL a salmon when she ordered halibut, when we sent it back as it was incorrect. When we ordered my MIL mentioned an oregano allergy which the waiter said he would check with the chef and let her know. We didn’t hear anything else from our waiter if the dish contained oregano. Instead of asking if she wanted something different they changed her order without asking to salmon. Food was cold and mediocre, sangria was horrendous.
