Went on a Sunday morning around 9 and unfortunately the service wasn’t the greatest nor the food. Took 15 minutes to get a cup of coffee and we placed our orders early when we ordered drinks and breakfast didn’t arrive til almost an hour later. We didn’t order complex items a skillet, biscuits and gravy platter, kids pancakes. At one point we saw our server pick up a food order ticket off the floor right next to our table so we were thinking our order may have even been forgotten.

Went for brunch between baseball games, and it was delicious. Skillet was bigger than I'm used to and the pancakes were amazing. Rest of the family got some fun pancakes that also looked really good (would have stolen some if I wasn't so full)

The food was fantastic. The service was even better. A true gem.

Went to the Buttermilk Cafe on Father’s Day last Sunday. My kids wanted to buy dad breakfast. They were quite busy as to be expected but we only waited about 10 minutes for a table. The server was fairly prompt on getting to us and taking our orders. After a normal wait time we received 3 out of the 5 meals we ordered and were told the rest would be right up, this was not the case at all. The waitress returned several times each with the same tale of how our missing meals would be up soon. Then she started telling us about her eye surgery like this might of have an effect on why our meals were forgotten, but she claimed she wrote them on the ticket. Finally one meal came, but incomplete and with another promise that the rest would be up soon. Nope…not soon at all. Finally after about 15 minutes and the other meals eaten, the rest of that meal came but not the last, again with the usual “it will be right up” nope again. The last meal took forever and still wasn’t made correctly as the waitress blamed the busy cooks for all the issues. In the mean time where is the manager when all this is happening. We took the last meal to go and were not charged but the damage was done. This is a nice little place in my neighborhood but it will be quite some time before we return if at all. This all boils down to bad management as these issues should have been taken care of immediately once the server was missing whole meals completely.

Our server did a great job, very attentive and friendly. The food was okay at best - omelette was decent, hash browns were bland and not fully cooked to a crisp. Pancakes standard run of the mill taste. Would have been nice to substitute gluten free pancakes for a small up charge but the owner refused. They will not do many substitutions, apparently, so caveat emptor.

This little cafe has a nice and comfortable setting. The omelets are a good size and the hash browns were delicious. The coffee was tasty. We will be returning soon.

This small little cafe is always the best. Me and my daughters love going here for a little break from life. Before or after church, on a day off from school, or just a daddy daughter date while the other is busy. Food is always excellent. Great portion size, I can always make 2 meals of my skillet entree. Staff is attentive and nice. It is one of the best breakfast spots around.

Although this place is small , it usually means there is a wait. The food was top-notch, and the service was too. The halway wwhere you wait is also painted with an Italian village feel with other shops connected, which encourage you to wander and feel excited. Great overall experience

We had to take our son to Saint Francis and decided to stop and get some food, looked on Google and this place had the highest ratings in the area, (we're from the Quad Cities btw) definitely worth checking out! Great people and great service, I'm a cook of 17 years and I appreciate good food and good service. Thanks! 😉

Food was really good but our experience was ruined when I tried to scoot my chair closer to the table and pinched the pad of my finger so hard I ended up with a 1/2" cut where my finger popped from being pinched so hard. Waitress had to give me multiple bandaids as I bled through them. When I apologized for making a scene, the waitress told me it has happened before and it will likely happen again. If you go, don't touch the chairs - ask for a booth, it's safer that way.
The menus were also badly damaged and the prices had been rewritten over white-out making it difficult to read. It's clear management does not care about this place.
The boxwood plant wall was actively falling down and it would have been awful for a plastic plant to end up in our food.

Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options are available, but more expensive.
