The prices might throw you off but it matches the quality of everything, an inviting atmosphere & well lit with natural light.

So disappointed. Service was ridiculously slow and they were out of a few key ingredients (cashew cheese, possibly sweet potato hummus). Had to send first attempt back because she made a weird combo of the Bahn Mi and the Las Cruces. Put cucumber on even though we said no cucumber. We were supposed to have the sweet potato hummus and got regular - she never said anything so we aren’t sure if this was another screw up or if you were out of it. Didn’t even bother sending it back because it took over 20 minutes just to get the toast to begin with and there was not one person in line in front of us. We didn’t order a smoothie or anything. Just ingredients on bread. Not time consuming. Late for an appointment because of how slow and inaccurate it was. Not happy. Won’t be back.

The Joy Bar Review 8/9/2023I've walked past this cute little place countless times on my way to Starbucks. But, today I decided to stop in and I am so glad that I did! Walking up, you can't help but feel at peace. It's a very quiet peaceful place. Everyone was helpful and nice! The decorations are minimal and very relaxed. It feels as if you walked into a piece of paradise in the middle of a town. The outdoor seating is located in the heart of downtown Glenellyn. It's very laid-back and festive. I ended up getting the "Crandmerry Rose" juice. It was so bright, clean, and refreshing. I loved how tangy it was! I didn't get a chance to try anything else. But, I'll definitely be back!Crandmerry Rose-This juice is bright and bold. It's light and Summery! I love how tangy, tart, and fresh it is. It has that addictive bite with a crisp finish. I loved it!

I have to start by saying a typically love The Joy Bar - the toasts are my absolute fave. I've been so disappointed with my last two orders that I don't think I can do it again. The sourdough bread used to be thick and fluffy (large pieces that I'd be able to get 2 meals out of - they'd fill up the to-go box) and now they are thin and SO TINY I honestly wondered how they were ok handing me almost chip-sized pieces. It's happened in the past and the owner would always include 3 slices instead of 2 on days where the bread wasn't the usual. On top of this disappointment, my cucumber spirals on this most recent order were just the brine. Stringy/wet and barely recognizable as cucumbers.

Wrong order. I ordered the Hilltopper Bowl with no coconut but received a bowl filled with blueberries, coconut and granola only. The bowl was good but too much açaí inside. However I would have preferred to get the bowl I ordered which includes strawberries and bananas also. Two stars are missing due to wrong order, large portion of açaí and no answer to my numerous calls to the restaurant.

A cute little place in downtown Glen Ellyn. They have delicious freshly squeezed juice. Their menu options for toasts are intriguing! I tried one of the toasts with pickled carrots, so good! The only thing I'd work on is the bar's food containers. My toast was served in a Styrofoam container, I'd rather see it in a more ecofriendly container. Still, I highly recommend!

I've had decent experiences here in the past. It's been months since I've been back. Today, I went in and the girls working looked miserably which I get... it seemed hot in the store. I got my drink, which is a smoothie.. you would think would be refreshing and it was not. I've orderEd this drink (brave smoothie) many times before and it was always great. But it was lukewarm today, and the flavors were not as I remembered. The girls were rude, didn't smile... but the smoothie that I spent 9 dollars on wasn't even good. All around shitty experience today. Threw out the warm smoothie.

Nice little smoothie and toast shop. Tried the avocado toasy with red pepper flakes cherry tomatoes, greens and sriracha and was quite tasty. Clean, modern space, friendly service.

I'm from out of town and was looking for a local coffee shop. Came across JOY Bar's menu online and it showed Intelligentsia coffee which is one of my favorite brands. So I walked in to grab some. Super friendly staff, really nice place. I love supporting local businesses. The coffee was so good I stopped back in for a second cup on my walk back. Definitely will be returning!

A juice bar that makes everyone joyful. If not they f****** suck. The Joy Bar is the coolest place in Glen Ellyn literally and besides the bowls they also have toast. Check it out in the morning or afternoon. You can't go wrong with some kind of bowl even though prices on some things are high. Breakfast seems to be the best time to come because they have açaí bowls. If you don't want these they also have avocado toast. They're also open for lunch and have salads if you want something not breakfast related in any way. Busy at any time it seems which means people like it. The last time here I got a Pow Pow Bowl, as part of a balanced breakfast and liked this. It's $9.25 for a regular. This is made with açaí purée, almond milk, bananas, and cocoa, and is topped with almond butter, chia seeds, granola, and strawberries. Good stuff as far as breakfast. It has to be checked out for lunch whenever it is we come back here. The prices aren't all that bad for this kind of thing.
