“Food and service fantastic. They were running behind with reservations but they comped us drinks an an appetizer...which is pretty unheard of these days. Rachel, our server, was phenomenal, I liked her so much I even asked her to help me "customize" my pasta dish, which she happily did (and it turned out great! The lobster diavolo but with vodka sauce...keeping the spice level.) Caesar salad good but not traditional...and missing anchovies (I know, I'm weird. Very fresh ingredients though.) We were a party of 6 and everyone loved their food. Reasonable prices too. Will definitely be back! Only wish it weren't so cramped inside.”

“After a week of travel for this Mom, the last thing I wanted to do was to make dinner. This isn't the first time we've been to Glen Prairie and I knew it was just the place I wanted to go. The atmosphere is warm, but quiet. Perfect for a good family catchup. The food is comforting without being too heavy and the wine, beer and cocktail selection is the perfect pairing. We've had the pleasure of being served by Anna a few times now and she does a great job. She is attentive and watchful, without being overbearing which is a difficult skill to master for a lot of servers. Aside from that, I love that it is a safe place for folks with food allergies and I feel very well taken care of in respect to that issue. I can tell that everyone from the hosts to the servers to the bartenders to the kitchen staff are very well trained in creating a safe and welcoming experience for each guest. Glen Prairie is quickly becoming one of our go to family favorite restaurants and we will definitely be back!”

“Recently celebrated a 70th birthday with the D'Alexander family. What a great event. The staff could not have been nicer, and attentive. You only thought you might need something at the table and it would appear out of no where. The food was all home made and you could tell made from traditional old recipes and a lot of love thrown in. You feel like you are in a small cafe in Italy. If you want a great Italian dining experience please take the time to enjoy Made In Italy, because my wife and I plan to go back.”

“I have been coming here for years and would have recommended it until tonight. I walked in and was told that they are too busy to take my order!! WTF!?!? Isn't that a good problem to have? Suck it up, that is part of the business!! I have never in all my life been turned away from a restaurant for such a stupid reason. They didn't even know what I was going to order, which was only a gyro and only taken a couple minutes to make. Not very professional, nor a good way to treat a customer....”

“I don’t typically give feedback but time and time again , this location satisfies! They take good to great! I door dash from here many times a month and it always amazes me how hot the food is, how correct the order is and how prompt I receive it! It is truly remarkable and even ordered tonight (holiday weekend) and they got everything right ! Just so grateful to all the hard work and CARE that goes into an order! Thank you too always to the staff cause they are always so nice to our family and Jesus is particularly “hands on” anytime we have needed anything ! “I finally visited CSC for the first time on Friday... highly anticipated due to all the local hype! I'm therefore not ashamed to say that I returned on Saturday with my family, and bought take home salad to eat on Sunday too and also at work on Monday. I AM OBSESSED.

Each salad we tried was better than the next. Excellent consistency, vibrant flavors, mouth watering combinations. Whether served in scoops or on a croissant (my fave!), the meals were delightful. We also tried the pasta salad (yum!) and multiple soups - baked potato and chicken & rice were divine.

My kids even loved the mac & cheese... thereby solidifying many future return trips ;)

The inside is spacious and very clean. The employees were extremely kind and patient as we made our choices, and the food was served very quickly. I can tell how hard they are working to make their customers happy and impressed!

“1st visit to MK Steak and we were very impressed. We were seated right away and started with wine and cocktails ( spicy Bees Knees was awesome!). Our server, Chelsea, was knowledgeable, friendly and tentative. Atmosphere was lively but not loud. Both our entrees were cooked to perfection. My husband, who knows his steaks, was pleasantly surprised to hear the steaks are from Meats by Linz. His steak was amazing- great flavor. I had the scallops, which were also very good. The baked French Onion soup was hot and cheese was nicely browned. We were too full for dessert but saw a few being served. So wish I had saved room! We will be back!”

“Taco Pros is a hidden gem! The restaurant is small, but there is plenty of seating. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you receive. Everything was served hot and came out quickly. The meat was fresh, flavorful, and high quality. The staff was friendly and welcoming.

The booths are super comfortable with lighting that’s not harsh but is still bright enough to see what’s on your table. The service was amazing; our server was friendly, genuine, and accommodating. The thin crust pizza is delicious. The Salvador specialty pizza is unique and one of my faves. All of these details and more come together to make this an exceptional restaurant to dine in.”

“Visited this cafe with my friend on a quiet weekday evening and we both ended up liking it more than expected. The lighting was warm, music stayed soft, and nobody was rushing customers even as it got busier later. I ordered cheesecake with hot chocolate while my friend tried pasta and coffee. The cheesecake texture was soft and fresh instead of dry. Our drinks took slightly longer because they were handling several takeaway orders, but staff apologized and kept things moving calmly throughout the evening rush.”

“Some of the best pizza in the area. Keep it simple . . . one to two ingredients . . . and request well done. As in most pizzerias, smaller pies are much, much better than large ones. The 12" comes out perfectly. Great drinks and wings, too. And tons of TVs. Open late.”

“The Wheat Cafe is located right next to the Waterleaf restaurant at College of DuPage. The cafe features delicious Bakery items, soups and salads, pizza, chips. All prepared on site by the students at College of DuPage.

“I’m usually an at-home coffee person, but without my coffee maker right now, I’ve been picking up Starbucks. It honestly bummed me out at first because I love the way I make it at home & I never really know what to order at a coffee shop to make it taste the same. The girl taking my order in the drive-thru at this location was so helpful, and then once I got to the window, Will was just such a warm & lovely person. You could tell he cared that my coffee was made well and really hoped I would like it — which, by the way, I really did!!

He obviously couldn’t have known, but I’m going through a lot personally in the last 48 hours with family stuff and my dog, and Will’s energy with me through the drive-thru really warmed my heart this morning. They accidentally made an extra blueberry muffin, and when he handed me my last drink he gave me a second one, I told him I had already gotten mine. He just smiled and told me to take it anyway. It was such a simple gesture, but it meant more than he knows.

I drove away with tears in my eyes, in the best way, feeling so warm from the kindness he showed. I really needed that today. Thank you, Will and the beautiful people who were working at this location this morning!”

“I have lived out in the western suburbs for 20 years but finally went here last night. This place will definitely be on my short list of places to frequent. Great food, great service, great value!!”

“I do not have any complaints about the food, but I have been bothered by a situation which occurred while we were here. I brought 2 of my young granddaughters here last week. We arrived around 11:15 and planned to stay and eat our açaí bowls for lunch. While we were deciding what to order, there were 12-15 high school girls who came in and took every seat to eat their lunches which they brought from home. I believe 1 girl ordered something, but the rest sat and ate their lunches which they did not order from this establishment. We left after getting our food and walked home to eat since there were no seats for us to sit. I can’t believe people are allowed to bring their own food into this place to eat and take up every seat. I was visiting Glen Ellyn, so I don’t know if this is a common practice of restaurants to allow people to bring in their own food? But, I have never experienced this in other towns, and would be embarrassed if one of my family members would do this! And, I would imagine these girl’s parents don’t take their own food into the restaurants in Glen Ellyn! I did not see any sign on the door which said “paying patrons only”, so assume it is okay with management?”

“Update: Looking back on our visit to Giordano's, we still remember just how incredible the pizza was. This place absolutely delivered the classic Chicago deep-dish experience and easily ranks among some of the best pizza we have had in the Chicago area.

The pizza was loaded with flavor, plenty of cheese, and cooked perfectly. Every bite reminded us why Chicago-style pizza is famous around the world. You can tell they take pride in what they serve, and it definitely stood out as a memorable meal.

The wait staff was also fantastic throughout the visit. Friendly, attentive, and always making sure everything was perfect. Great service combined with amazing food is what makes restaurants truly memorable, and this location definitely hit the mark.

As Mike & Amy’s Small Town Adventures, we have explored restaurants all across Illinois and beyond, and Giordano’s in Glen Ellyn remains one of the pizza spots we still talk about years later. Highly recommended for anyone looking for outstanding Chicago-style pizza. Easy 5 stars from us.

“I live a few blocks from this Starbucks, and have been a daily patron since it opened over twenty years, ago. Continously, great staff, and great coffee (cold brew). I've never bought any of their food or baked goods (not into prepackaged stuff). During the school year, it seems between the hours of 11a -2p, the place is often overrun by high-school students who are loud and rude. Nevertheless, I do my best to avoid the ill-mannered teens, as the staff and coffee are great.”
