We enjoyed our salads and entrees. We were too full for dessert! As we left, I was impressed at how clean the restaurant was- even after serving such a large crowd. Nice place. Good culture. “Thin crust pizza was good, but not the best I've had. Sauce was not bad, but not great either. Crust was very good--crispy. Cheese was plentiful, but didn't seem to be high quality. We had onions on ours...generous portion. Very sweet onions. Our friends had sausage. Said it was very good. Nice portion. Italian beef melt was very good. Ton of beef on delicious garlic bread. Lots of cheese, but again, not a great quality cheese. Best i can describe it is to say it was kind of like drinking skim milk vs whole milk...if that makes sense. French fries were yummy, but not as hot as they could have been. Bread was served when we sat down. Delicious! Crusty and warm. Ask for their spice blend...it doesn't come out unless you ask for it. It was yummy...oregano, salt, pepper, and not sure what else, but out of this world. Service was great. Georgia was very very nice. We were not offered drink refills, and our water glasses were empty, and never refilled. But overall, we were happy. Prices were very reasonable! “Gotta' go with the home team for this venue as a patron for 30 yrs. Their thin crust pizza is the model of my 60 yr preference for pizza: generous ingredients and fully baked. An employer of many students, family and workers from the area do make them truly hometown. You can see skilled bakers through an opening behind the counter. My grown kids always request Papa when they visit us. If you did not like what you got, remember, you did not pay a fortune!!“

“Sunday lunch was a wonderful experience for several reasons. The restaurant was open according to their posted store hours. A few years ago, this would have been a silly compliment. But these days, we have had several encounters in which we would arrive at an eatery and notice the doors are still locked even though it's past their usual store open hours. Needless to say, service was attentive, friendly, and efficient. Our party of six shared the smoked trout dip, calamari, charred pepperoni pizza, white mushroom and truffle pizza, Italian cheesecake, and tiramisu. The smoked trout dip is a tad high on sodium but I really like how it was served with flaxseed crackers. The pizza are served Romana style, therefore rectangular and fluffy. The crust is thin but with a crunch. Even better, they are half-price on Sundays!“
“1st time here and man the reviews are spot on , i went inside and the place was crowded so that's always a good sign. I ordered the meatball sub because I saw a Chicago's best sign that recommended it and man it was probably one of the best I ever had.Meatballs were tender , flavorful and that marinara sauce was high quality and extremely satisfying.I also tried the rice balls with meat and red sauce , that was a good snack to eat with my sub very flavorful and definitely filling for 1 person.This place is relatively cheap as well , my sub was $8 bucks with cheese and the rice ball was $5 with red sauce.Needless to say I'll be back because nothing beats good cheap food !!!Kid-friendliness: Tons of places to sit for kids , also an extensive menu.“

“Everything about this restaurant is amazing. Beautiful set up, very nice atmosphere inside and wonderful decorations. Service was great, our server was on top of it, super friendly, very kind. The manager came by to check on every table. Sangria was delicious. Would definitely recommend the zucchini fries. They have a Monday special which is half price all pizzas which is amazing because their pizza is so delicious and wood oven baked. One of the best pizzas in the area. Parking is not convenient. There is construction on the street currently so no street parking available. Closest parking lot is a 3 min walk or next best thing is the parking garage on the opposite corner. Definitely recommend this restaurant for a celebration or just a nice date night.“

From the outside looks like a convenience store with Illinois Lottery displays but when you walk in, a classic Italian deli/grocery shop with dine-in area, a large spread of pre-made sandwiches, desserts, other homemade goodies, and a fridge/freezer full of take-home food and meals. Also nice to see they have a drive-thru. Pictured here is a 6" Paesano on their homemade bread with everything on it as well as hot giardiniera. Subs are made-to-order and you can see the cooks doing so. Meats are nicely portioned and the sub itself was not overly stuffed. Ordered this as a combo (which I could probably do without next time) which includes a bag of choice of chips and a fountain drink from the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine. Definitely want to try out their Serino Special Sub, Eggplant Parmesan Sub, Caprese Sub, or even their Pizzas next time. Their cannolis and cookies looked to die for so will need to grab those also.“

Crispy chicken wasn’t. It was in a sauce and wasn’t special. Cheesecake Factory has better elote, and Jimmys hotdogs on Grand has better fries. We have had the steaks in the past and they are very good. Yesterday was like eating at a McDonalds playland. The couple seated after me saw where the host was going and said no, they wanted the remote room. I’ll remember that. You can at least have the adults in a quieter area. The service wasn’t great. It took 15 minutes for the waitress to come and get the drink order. Not exaggerating. A group who came after us were served dinner before we got our appetizers. The host came over often but it seemed kind of odd. They couldn’t figure out how to give us separate checks. But I’ll go back and have oysters as an entree or a steak.“

They turned around a table and even through a pizza in the oven for the kids, no charge. The food was good, not great. Service was mediocre because it did take a few mins for them to acknowledge that there were customers waiting to order. However, service was great after taking my order and making my food. I ordered chicken parmesan dinner and breaded mushrooms. The portion size was very generous for the price. Menu prices are very decent. Breaded mushrooms were fresh and juicy. Chicken parmesan dinner was delicious, the chicken was perfectly cooked and moist. Pasta was tender and sauce was flavorful. Overall a solid 4.5/5. I will return to dine in and try the crepes and gyros.“

“Open, very, summery atmosphere! Feels like you're grabbing dinner on vacation to places like Palm Beach or Miami. Such a great place for a brief escape from Chicago winters. Elegant but still casual. Bright colors, nothing dark and dingy like several if the more old school Italian restaurants. Food is excellent! A good variety. I had the linguine with clans and I loved how it wasn't saturated in butter and garlic. Tasted like it does in Italy! Bread was fresh, beet salad was surprisingly delicious, and the Gelato was some of the best I ever had. We got hazelnut and pistachio. Coffee was good and strong. Service was good though we had to ask for several things which should have been already at the table, like grated cheese, salt and pepper, sharing plates should have come with the dessert as they gave enough spoons to know we were all sharing, etc. I've been here when it's jam packed and the service has always been great! This time it was less busy and we had to ask the bus boy for things. But, that being said, the waitress was very polite and immediately took care of requests when she was present. I wanted a table by the window and the host willingly accommodated us by making a 4 top for us. One plus from coming on a lesser busy time was that it was much quieter,l. Usually it's pretty loud in there when it's busy. But I always appreciate the uplifting vacation like atmosphere! I've never been disappointed, and this is probably my 4th time eating at Lucia Rose and will not my last.“
