“Waitress stands around talking to other employee. You wave at her to come over and she stands and stares at you. You actually had to tell her to come over to table. Never came back to ask how it was. Told her we want nothing else just the bill. Waited and had to ask for bill again. Not impressed.“
“My husband and I had a late breakfast/early lunch there today and we were "wowed!" Our server Liz was so pleasant and attentive, and our food was great! My breakfast quesadilla was very flavorful and ample in size (plus it came with sides of sour cream, guac and salsa). Half of it came home with me. My husband's sandwich (Glen Forest) was grilled chicken with bacon, cheddar cheese and bbq sauce on sourdough bread. It came with a cup of soup and he opted for the chicken noodle which was hearty and delicious. The fries were fantastic (the double fried kind) and he had leftovers as well. We would both HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!!“
“I stopped by the Glen Ellyn Metra train station for some coffee, and got a surprise. It was a real pleasure talking to Mary, who is not only selling great coffee and scones (more tasty and affordable than the chain stores), but working with other stakeholders in the space to keep the building clean while also maintaining a vegetable garden on the grounds surrounding the station. After talking with her, it's obvious to me that she is pursuing a labor of love, and she is a true inspiration. I can't think of a more pleasant way to board the train in the morning, or just hang out for a game of chess when things are quiet during the day. More towns should get creative like this and make these kinds of spaces more inspiring, rather than just a drab place to gather while in a rush to get somewhere else.“
“The Joy Bar Review 8/9/2023I've walked past this cute little place countless times on my way to Starbucks. But, today I decided to stop in and I am so glad that I did! Walking up, you can't help but feel at peace. It's a very quiet peaceful place. Everyone was helpful and nice! The decorations are minimal and very relaxed. It feels as if you walked into a piece of paradise in the middle of a town. The outdoor seating is located in the heart of downtown Glenellyn. It's very laid-back and festive. I ended up getting the "Crandmerry Rose" juice. It was so bright, clean, and refreshing. I loved how tangy it was! I didn't get a chance to try anything else. But, I'll definitely be back!Crandmerry Rose-This juice is bright and bold. It's light and Summery! I love how tangy, tart, and fresh it is. It has that addictive bite with a crisp finish. I loved it!“
“We came here to warm up and get a midday snack since we were in the area. We came an hour before closing and there were still plenty of baked goods available. There was also plenty of seating and it was clean inside. I had a blackberry brownie and a blueberry basil matcha latte. I typically dislike sweet drinks so I was hesitant to order the latte. However, it wasn't overly sweet and the flavor was interesting (in a good way). The blackberry brownie was rich and also delicious. My child had a big chocolate chip cookie and devoured it instantly. I wish we came for lunch since there were intriguing menu items but we will be back if we are in the area!“
