“Great food n excellent service“

“Update: Stopped back at Panera Bread and once again had a very good experience. This location continues to be a dependable stop for fresh food, good coffee, and a relaxing atmosphere.

The restaurant was clean, organized, and the staff was friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. Our food came out quickly, was fresh, and tasted great. Whether you are stopping in for breakfast, lunch, or just coffee and pastries, this location does a great job keeping quality and service consistent.

One thing we always appreciate about Panera is the comfortable atmosphere. It is a great place to sit down, relax, catch up on work, or just take a break during the day. This Downers Grove location continues to deliver a smooth and enjoyable experience every time we visit.

As Mike & Amy’s Small Town Adventures, we travel throughout Illinois and beyond exploring restaurants and hidden gems, and this Panera Bread remains a solid stop whenever we are in the area. Highly recommended.

“Always great food and I love the different specials! My favorites are the harvest medley chicken salad, acorn squash soup, broccoli cheddar soup, many of the sandwiches; I love all the cookies and the pecan braid! It would be the perfect place if they could offer some gluten free options for their pastries and the breads. Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff.“

“Our family absolutely loves Bb's donuts! We do miss being able to go inside the donut shop. So many wonderful memories taking our little girl there to eat donuts and read a book or two. We have a little boy with Autism and it's not safe for him to sit in front by the busy street because he runs. “Great hidden place away from crowded area. Nice atmosphere, tables have board games and chess to spend time while waiting for food. Prices are reasonable compared to many other places. Their Philly sandwich and Chicken Kofta wrap were awesome.“

“I absolutely love the food, coffee and atmosphere with 2 stars taken off of the lovely decor, just because I have yet been able to sit and enjoy a conversation with friends. Every seat is filled by people on laptops sipping 1 drink every time I have been there, even outside on nice days. I love meeting up with my friends and catching up. Sparrow would ideally be the perfect spot if there was a seat open, let alone a few seats together. The staff are amazing, drinks are perfect, and the food is delicious. If I'm in the area, I will grab a to go order. If I'm meeting friends, we opt for a more social friendly shop.“

Terrific, eclectic French wine list (with a few American labels) accompanies a sizable menu that includes several "go-to" items (escargot, French onion soup, steak frites) one would find in a French bistro. I ordered a large Black Coffee with a shot of espresso, I even mentioned to the guy making my coffee that it was my first time here and he was polite and said Welcome. (When was the last time you heard someone say welcome?) The girl behind the counter asked if I wanted anything else and I asked If they made there Scones fresh and she said yes we bake daily. I bought a variety to bring to the gig for the crew this morning. My Coffee was made exactly the way I make it at home and the Scones were still warm and made me feel like I was on Arthur Avenue at Morrone's pastry in the Bronx waiting in line for them to come out of the oven fresh. I must give Elijah's Coffee 5 stars today and recommend it to everybody and I will now be a customer. “Brewpoint is a gem in the Western suburbs of Chicago. I am entirely blessed to live blocks from their craft location on York. Exposed brick, chandeliers, and a plant wall surrounds you - a grateful reprieve from cookie cutter Starbucks decor. Coffee, matcha, and baked goods are top notch (haven't tried cocktails or charcuterie yet). A wonderful mix of professionals, college students, community organizers, and socially conscious suburban moms escaping the kids (I'm sure I'm missing wonderful others). Sometimes I'm not sure how I manage to keep living in the suburbs when the city is still home for me after 10 years in Elmhurst, but Brewpoint certainly makes it easier.“

“Visited this cafe with my friend on a quiet weekday evening and we both ended up liking it more than expected. The lighting was warm, music stayed soft, and nobody was rushing customers even as it got busier later. I ordered cheesecake with hot chocolate while my friend tried pasta and coffee. The cheesecake texture was soft and fresh instead of dry. Our drinks took slightly longer because they were handling several takeaway orders, but staff apologized and kept things moving calmly throughout the evening rush.“
