A regular destination, frustrating and complex reservation system, but remember this is not a for-profit restaurant. A gem in DuPage.
The food, beverages and presentation were outstanding. An elegant meal at an affordable price!
Our meal was delicious, along with the great, professional service we received from the staff. My husband and I will definitely be back again.
Overall very nice experience, will definitely try to get in again. Skirt steak was amazing and so was the butternut squash and apple soup. Crusted trout fell short on flavor. Service was good.
The butternut and cauliflower soups were a great accompaniment to the meal. The flat iron steak with mushrooms was delicious. Our server was informative and attentive. A Lovely and elegant setting added to the creative meal.
Fantastic elevated food in a contemporary sunlit space with a water view. Well worth the drive for us. I started with the butternut squash and apple soup and a arugula salad with baked goat cheese, and my husband chose the creamy cauliflower soup and mixed green salad with currants and blueberries. The soups were both rich and flavorful. The salads were delayed in coming (perhaps because they had run out of arugula as my salad contained another leaf lettuce) but both salads were very good. The bread on the table was baked in house, also very good. We both had the hangar steak with whipped potatoes and sauteed spinach. Excelkent! We weren't asked how we wanted the steaks done but they arrived as we prefer them, medium with a warm pink center, with a charred crust and a slightly smoky flavor as if wood grilled. Perfect! A brownie sundae completed our meal. We will definitely be back.
It was a great deal for very tasty food. Really like sampling the culinary schools offering
We always love dining at Waterleaf. The Pacific lunch menu that we enjoyed was probably our best meal ever at Waterleaf. That fact that they keep exceeding themselves is awesome.
Last night's dining experience was was one of the nicest evenings we've had in quite awhile. The restaurant took exceptional attention to my gluten sensitivity. Each course was perfectly prepared and presented at the table. Our server was delightful taking the time to explain each course to us & answering any questions we may have. I thoroughly enjoyed the wine pairing with my meal, while my husband opted for the Antiguan Uno Malbec. It was a lovely Malbec. Although Waterleaf was a bit of a distance, we are hoping to secure reservations in November to celebrate my husbands birthday. Overall, I can't recall having a nicer Birthday dinner. Thank you!
The food was delicious and the price is very reasonable for a 4 course meal. Beautiful view of the outdoors. A plus experience.

The food was delicious and was very satisfying. The only critique I would give them is that I wish the waiters would describe the dish to us. Other than that, it was amazing
This is the second time I have dined here, I love it! Foods always great, service is too! Nice to chat with the kids about their love of culinary art! Great experience overall! Highly recommended!!
This place is wonderful! The food was delicious and the ambiance is amazing. Service is slow...but that is expected since these are students that are training in the restaurant industry. I love coming here for a great meal!
Everything was fantastic. Tasty food, people from the staff, as always, it is a phenomenal experience.
The food we had from soup to dessert was excellent. The service was also top notch. Although sometimes service may vary based on the experience of the server that day, we always remember these are students learning their craft. Our server today was very professional and engaging, all the qualities you want in a good waiter.
