Hands down my favorite place for brunch or a special dinner on the north shore. Not only is the food and service outstanding, the room itself is absolutely gorgeous. In the summer it’s a joy to sit out front and watch the neighborhood go by. Special kudos for having excellent vegetarian and alcohol free drinks!

Food is good but it is pricey. Beautiful inside and bar, but was uncomfortablely warm inside (80 degrees). Wish the temperature had been closer to 70.

Was going to give this place 5 stars, but am irked by restaurants that change additional fees (they charge you a benefit fee) instead of raising their menu prices. Very sneaky. Raise your prices, patrons don't want to be surprised by random fees when they receive the check.

The restaurant itself is very nice. The food is delicious. The whole place created a wonderful impression. I had two dogs with me, and all the waiters were extremely polite, checking if everything was fine, being kind to our sleeping dogs, and even bringing a bowl of water for them — which completely melted my heart.

But then came the moment of payment, and it turned out the restaurant only accepts physical cards. I only had Apple Pay, and so did my friend. They should have warned us in advance about such a restriction. Fine, maybe they forgot — it happens. They called the administrator to help resolve the issue. A woman named Ekaterina came. She suggested I transfer the money to her via Zelle and she would pay the bill. Okay, that seemed to solve the problem.

But then she started acting unbelievably rude, saying that for a $70 bill I am OBLIGATED to add tips. She cheapens this wonderful restaurant with her provincial manners. I stayed silent, but my impression was already ruined. I entered the amount, and she repeated it again: “You left too little, you must leave at least twenty percent.” Does she even have the right to dictate that?! Can’t I leave cash directly to my waiter if I want? She looked absolutely pathetic. How can anyone feel like leaving tips after such words? She should not be the face of this restaurant.

And she didn’t stop there — she actually said: “Girls, have you even been in America for long?!” How shameless do you have to be to speak to guests in such a tone? At the very least, I should not have to listen to such remarks from an administrator. That’s how one single person can ruin the impression of an otherwise wonderful place. I would strongly recommend the owner to train this administrator in proper guest relations — she clearly needs to improve her qualifications.

GH is the best. Great bar, great dining area, and great food. We love dining here at least once a month. Pepe our server is the sweetest guy ever. We love him. He's always happy, and is great at his job. We love the burgers, fries, salads, cocktails, salmon, and so much more.

I was pleasantly surprised by Guildhall. We were invited by some friends that live on the North Shore and when I looked at the menu online I thought it would be awful; trying to do too many things to please too many palates (sushi and pizza on the same menu?). Plus I'm an admitted snob when it comes to restaurants in the 'burbs! The atmosphere was nice, the service was excellent and the food was decent, even the sushi. I wouldn't make a trip from the city especially to eat here but I would return if it meant spending a nice evening with North Shore friends.

Had great weather so we sat bistro style on the sidewalk out front, and had a show with our dinner. Started with a couple cocktails and appetizer of crostini. Drinks were beautifully presented. Pepe took good care of us and we ordered his recommendations for dinner: ossobucco and steak frites. The ossobucco was fork tender and the tomato in the sauce together with the polenta balanced textures and acid with savor and easy chew of the meat. We shared the roasted sweet potatoes, which had a seasoning with a little kick. Desert was chocolate cremeux and a cup of drip coffee. Both were outstanding.

Parking: If you don't mind walking a block there is plenty of parking nearby.

The menu has a combination of regular restaurant fare and sushi. The food is of good quality, and the portion size is decent. The place is always fully booked, and that is why the service is indifferent. It is also extremely noisy and hard to maintain a conversation without shouting.

I had the roast chicken “dinner” for $32. There were 2 tiny legs and a small piece of a breast. It came with sweet potatoes — 3 or 4 little slivers — and fennel, most of which was inetable (sp?). I gave one of the legs to my husband since I don’t like dark meat and he said it was undercooked. This was a pathetic meal. I would have said something but we were with another couple and I didn’t want to make a fuss. I won’t eat there again.

First time in Glencoe and I was starving. This was the first place I came to, and it was perfect: a wonderful server (sorry but can’t remember your name) recommended the bagel and lox and it did not disappoint. Probably the best I’ve had. They even gifted me some incredible homemade donuts! Quite the welcome! ??

Went last night, ordered a burger medium rare it was ice cold. The server took it back and they put it in an oven. It came back burnt and the bun was burnt and hard. I sent it back and skipped dinner. Our server said medium-rare is supposed to be cold!
My son didn’t want aioli on his burger and it was there. Server’s response was “well I told the kitchen.” My son has severe food allergies and carries an Epi pen. Orders need to be taken seriously as many people have food allergies. Service was so rude, he never checked on us. I have had this server before and he is always like this.
