The staff all works together and didn't seem to mind helping out one another, which is a great sign of management.

This place is OK, yeah I said just ok... food was prepared well but didn't have a knock my socks off kind of thing i was looking for. Price point for north shore was mid to high but acceptable. Cocktail menu was very good. We had the tuna tartar, and sticky ribs for apps, both were good. Sesame ginger salad, taste like salad but no Asian. Pan seared salmon and vegis was cooked perfectly but lacked any excitement. For dessert we had the white moose tart (basiaclly cake and whip) and the home made coffee and kaluah ice cream was tasty. Service was friendly and quick.

Great food, friendly service. Accomodating to gluten and dairy allergies. Love the cozy ambiance.

A very good experience. A very cool restaurant with an old-timey soda fountain feel

Extremely expensive competent food. Good but not great. Very north shore experience. I suggest sharing appetizers as the servings are large enough for a few people. Octopus was the best.

Service was great. Food was good -Calabrian rigatoni with shrimp. Tons of shrimp, portions in general were big. But I was disappointed with the flavor. Not bad, perfectly ok to eat, just a little flat and one note. And I was actually hoping for it to be spicier...waiter mentioned he could make it less hot and I said no.Glass of wine was nice and half price on Wednesday. Good experience I will be back to try a different dish.

Valor in Glencoe is a real gem along the north shore. The menu is tight, meaning that there are only a few options, but each is exquisite. I ordered a rye themed cocktail that was very good, but my wife ordered one with a strawberry infusion, which was excellent. (Note that the cocktail menu online is not the one served at the restaurant.) We ordered the Nana's Meatballs appetizer, which was the best meatballs I have tried in a long time. My wife had the scallops while I had the lamb chops with a mint chutney. All excellent. For dessert, we tried the cheese cake, which was solid. The service was a little confused, as they had just changed their process so that servers also bused tables. This led to us being ignored for some stretches of time. But our waiter was gracious and helped create an overall highly positive experience. We will be back!

The service is exceptional as is the food. The popcorn cauliflower is reminiscent of the indo-chinese gobi Manchuria and very good. The steak frites with the sirloin is a revelation - I am not one for a sauce with my steak but this was illuminating!!The vodka martini was excellent and I tried the north shore sour but the egg white was too prominent and overpowering so I went back to the vodka martini with nary a regret!!I can see why this is a James Beard member restaurant.
