THEY ARE CLOSED!!! Temporary shutdown!! Do not show up I wanted to try this restaurant but to my surprise there was a note on the door that says they are temporary closed with no reopen date listed.

I've been here multiple times craving for something different. It's a huge spot with live entertainment on certain days/nights. They make everything fresh so the staff makes sure to mention that the food is made as it's ordered so it's not going to be fast food. I don't mind the wait and it's certainly appreciated to manage my expectations. I've had the combo meals here with the smothered porkchops (delicious!) and the fried chicken. They have really good stick to your ribs comfort food and the portions are generous. I always end up with leftovers. If you're ever by The Glen, make sure to stop by and give this spot a try!

I came here to check out the place early before a planned dinner and Blues concert. Despite the below freezing temperatures, only outdoor seating was available and there was no host to guide me to a table.I saw in previous posts that service wasn't always good and in my case no one even brought me a menu or a table setting. Not even a glassof water! When I picked up my cell phone to call in an order and see if I could get in to the men's room. they didn't answer either. After seeing no staff or managers, I finally gave up and left disappointed. I snapped a few relevant photos to help the next yelper.

Great local business with good service. We shared the appetizers and everything was fried to perfection. Cocktails were good. The ribs were fall off the bone. My friend got shrimp and grits. My sides were Mac and cheese and potato salad which I would not get again and try some of the other sides. I liked their appetizers and fried green tomatoes. Loved that this place is locally black owned! We need more diverse places like this at the glen!

I ordered take-out today and the ribs were fantastic! My fiancé had to call his entire family and tell them about this place! Can't wait to come back with all of them!

We enjoyed our food very much. This place offered southern soul food cuisines just like our mothers would cook for Sunday dinners. The service was great. They made sure we were well cared for. We visited on early Sunday afternoon and were able to be seated immediately. We are planning to go back one evening when the entertainment is on the stage.

Tonight I had the pleasure of dining at Dee's place. This establishment is very well decorated. The staff was very kind and attentive. I met the owner Miss Dee and she's such a beautiful person she was very attentive and made sure that we had a great experience. Now let's get down to the food it was really good and just like the rest of the reviews the chicken was amazing and I didn't order the chicken my cousin did. I had smothered pork chops which were delectable the gravy was awesome. If you ever get the chance I highly recommend that you stop by this restaurant I promise you'll enjoy yourself. Our server for the evening was a young man named Desmond. He made sure that my cousin and I had a great experience as well so thank you Desmond for everything you did for us this evening.

Place was nearly empty when we arrived, so we were thinking we'd get served a little faster. I'm not a catfish fan, but I gave this a chance, and I did like it :) J*** chicken was very good, so was the tips. Jambalaya was good but had greens in it though, which I do not like, so I picked that out. Cole slaw was very bland and not creamy- needs horseradish and celery salt. Cornbread had cheese and jalapeno in it- did not offer a simple option. So 4 stars for food. Only 3 stars because of our server. Iced tea had no ice or lemon. Had to ask for lemon for the catfish, too. Neither of us got refills on our drinks or even more water. Waiter forgot about us, even though it was not busy- waited over 20 minutes and had to flag him down to get our check, which he blamed on us for not flagging him down. (???) Check was wrong- added cocktails to our bill. Had to get that corrected. Check had a QR code to pay, but that didn't work. Took more time to finally get going. Total time was 2 hours. I waited tables for many years, so I feel like the server was maybe new and needed help. We were getting pretty frustrated though, wanting to get going. Food was okay, but when other folks were getting checked on, and we didn't ecen get more water, it kind of was a letdown.

Yummy Delicious! I had the j*** chicken, red beans & rice, collard greens and corn bread. The food was hot when it arrived at the table which is uber important to me. The j*** was spicy but not too hot - really perfect. My dinner mate had chicken and waffles which she raved about. Her chicken was freshly fried, not greasy but moist and amazing. I love drumsticks and was blessed to have two on my plate with a huge breast and tasty thigh. I highly recommend Dee's. It is very spacious and has live entertainment, too and a seemingly worthwhile happy hour, I hope to check that out soon.

First and foremost I'm an avid supporter of Black businesses, and love to see our people doing big things. I would first like to point out the good qualities. The food was pretty good, cooked freshly and the live band was excellent! The reason for 2 stars, the service was absolutely terrible! Arrived at 3:50p, ordered food at about 4:30p because we were waiting on another party to join us. After ordering, we didn't receive our food until 6:30p. Absolutely ridiculous! Unbeknownst to us the waiter didn't put our order in right away, so we were just sitting there starving. My mom's blood sugar started to drop, so we called the male owner over to get her something to eat before she passed out. He did bring her a little bite to eat, but made excuses that the waiter was new and he should've ask for help if he didn't know how to input orders into the system, (okay now you know, go help him) still didn't help him. The owner's wife Dee herself, stood by watching as the waiter struggled and she did nothing to help either. Never bothered to approach our table with an apology or anything. Meanwhile, as white patrons entered the establishment, she jumped and catered to their every need. I mean every white patron! She walked clean pass every table with Black patrons never asking how's it going, is everything ok? Nothing! I guess Dee has to secure the bag from those particular patrons and never mind the others. One thing is for certain, bad reviews spread way faster than good reviews. Needless to say, this was my first and last time visiting this establishment.

We went to Dees Place on Wednesday. There were only 3 tables outside and 1 table inside with 2 customers who were almost done with their meal. When we walked in the hostess (mgr?) did not greet us. I told her there were 2 of us. She wanted to sit us outside, but I told her no because of allergies. I asked her if we could have the table by the window and she said NO! Tables are for larger parties. Ok so its 4:30, no one is eating inside except for a party of 2. The other tables had chairs on top of them as if there were going to clean the floor (which did need a good cleaning) so did the tables. We were seated and waited 15 mins before anyone came to ask if we wanted beverages. The hostess kept passing by and never asked if the waiter came by. We ordered out food: ribs-they were delicious and tender, the corn bread was cold and very dry, the mac/cheese was one big spoonful of cold mush (it was bad), pork chops were fried-greasy use napkins to wipe off grease, but they were tender, rice and beans were ok. It was now 5:45 and not one person came in-so much for window seating for larger parties. When we left no one thanked us, the chef was sitting by the bar area with 2 other employees, hostess looked at us and did not say a thing. Really??? Not sure if I will give it another chance, we do like to support businesses in our area but this was not worth the money.

Excellent fried chicken that is still crispy when you take it home, let alone fresh while dining at the restaurant. Second fav is the red beans and rice as it's so flavorful. Other folks said the smothered pork chops are to die for. Enormous portions with such reasonable prices. We met Dee and she's such an accommodating and gracious hostess. Enjoy the live band on Friday night and come very very hungry. You will be happy with the leftovers the next day.

The fried chicken was amazing and we just loved the sides. Dee, herself, was super sweet and helped us do a menu hack of a choice of 1 meat, 2 sides and cornbread instead of buying separately. We’ll def be coming back!

We were in the mood for ribs and didnt want to goto to Carsons or Heckys. We tried a full slab of the Baby Back Ribs and an order of fried chicken. The ribs were moist and fall off the bone. They were excellent with a good sweet bbq sauce. The chicken was also moist and large meaty pieces with a nice crunch. I had the black eyed peas and candied yams to round it off. We'll be back. The band was a plus too. A jazz Quartet.
