Excellent service. Even though we were seated outside, in a geodesic dome, the staff came outside frequently to check on our table.

First time experience to eat inside the dome and for my husband's birthday it was perfect!

We had a wonderful visit. It was snowing so it was like have lunch in a snow globe. Food and drink were great!

Our table was practically in the parking lot; no ambiance at all. I would rather have eaten inside at Hackney's on Lake - and BTW there were at least 2 domes available in the ‘courtyard' the whole time we were there. Did this several times last year & enjoyed the experience. I won't be dining at the domes again unless I can be assured of a dome inside the courtyard. Waitstaff was great but the experience was very disappointing

Dinning in the Dome was such an enjoyable experience. The decorations and ambience were amazing.

Fridays they have Walleye, the serving is so large my husband and I split. The service is great and the dome is a great experience and the summer patio is beautiful.

We ate in the beer garden. Beautiful setting and always fun!

Kid-friendliness: Nice area for the kids to run around.

It seems like I only review places that I like.

Hackneys on Harms was a family favorite when I was growing up on the mean streets of Wilmette. Alas, I am not wealthy enough to live in the immediate area any longer. But the wife got the idea to grab lunch here for old times sake.

It hasn't changed much in circa 10 years. Food is still good. The patio was busy on a warm fall day, and their beer selection is still excellent. My only complaint is that the prices are over twice what they once were - but that can at least partially be blamed on the passage of time.

I had their take on a smash burger, and it was very good. We also tried an order of Buffalo-style breaded and fried cauliflower apps, which were surprisingly good. We skipped the fried onions this time. Maybe in another decade if the world holds together.

The staff was a couple of hands short, but they did a pretty good job keeping up with the crowd.

I go here once or twice a year but this time wasn’t my best experience. The service was terrible. We sat outside today if that matters The waiter we had I feel ignored us or didn’t bother even checking on us. Took 15 minutes for a Diet Coke even.
The food was good the onion string appetizer is the best! My hackney burger was good. However my mom’s patty melt rye bread wasn’t crispy. The outside is lively and nice.
Unfortunately based on this experience I’m going to give it 3 stars but typically I’d give it a 5

Smelly and damp! The ceiling vents over the tables were black as if they hadn't been cleaned in years. The dank smell almost overpowered the taste of the food. I've been a customer of Hackneys for years, but I don't think I'll come back to this one.

On a weekday for lunch you'll fit right in if you're an older adult; I didn't feel at all out of place with my white hair. Service was pleasant, we sat on the patio where every table has an umbrella so the sun isn't an issue. We both had specials, bratwurst plate and turkey pot pie and both were excellent.

Parking: Plenty of parking space for our full size pickups.

Wheelchair accessibility: Patio was accessible

Parking: Arrive early for dinner - also, the free lot much too small for dinner arrivals- also the parking places randomly arranged and accident prone.

Randomly stopped here for dinner when we were visiting friends in the area. They have outdoor seating when it's nice, but it's a little confusing as to what to do when you arrive — I believe there are two hostess stands (one outside and one inside), but there are no directions to either, so we ended up following someone inside thinking that there was only one hostess stand. The indoor seating is a throwback — it's dark with wood paneling, dark brown booths, an L-shaped bar.

I'm not sure if they are often short-staffed, but they were that day. It took a long time for anyone to acknowledge us to be seated and then forever to get drinks and then our food order in. The servers were all incredibly nice, though not super efficient. Also, they ran out of some of the specials on the board already the previous day, and no one thought to change it.

Once you order your food, it comes out crazy fast — we placed our order for our appetizer and entrees at the same time and the appetizer (the fried onion brick they're known for) came out before our waitress had finished taking down our entrees!

It's mostly bar/pub food and northern midwestern favorites (gave me Wisconsin vibes). The food was good, like a well done version of the genre. I can see why they have so many regulars, but we wouldn't go out of our way to come back next time we're in this part of the suburbs. I'd give it a solid B.

Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu with your standard fare for ~$10. Each entree includes a condiment-sized cup of applesauce, fries, drink, and scoop of ice cream.

Great place for a relaxing outdoor meal, service was only fair but is not the norm.
