Had a group of 16, eating outdoors. They were very accommodating. The food was wonderful, as was the service. I highly recommend this place.

I love Hackneys. Their outdoor patio is charming, with lots of umbrellas for those of us who can't handle diret sun. It's set among trees. Very cozy.

The food is good. They're known for their hamburgers and their onion loaf. Four of us split the smallest size. And they give complimentary French fries. But the best thing on the menu is the grasshopper dessert.

I'd definitely recommend this place.

Slow service. Good food. We were traveling and very hungry. After not asking for our order after almost 20 minutes, we asked for the breaded mushrooms as an appetizer as we waited for our food. They brought everything out at once, which defeated the purpose.

Original hackneyburger was one of the worst burgers I had recently. Very bland with no flavor whatsoever. Extra for cheese which was melted into the bun instead of the burger. There may be other good food there like fries but steer clear of burgers.

Got the OG Hackney burger. Rye is not the way to go, it completely fell apart. I ended up eating my burger with a knife and fork because it wouldn’t hold together. Added American cheese for $2 bringing the cost of the cheeseburger to $17. For comparison, one of the best burgers in Chicagoland is Small Cheval which is about $11. These two aren’t even in the same league.

Two people, two burgers, two drinks, $65.

Nice ambience and vibe on the patio, but not enough to overcome the dining experience.

I've been going to this place for 50 years. My recent visit was the first in a long time because I don't live in the area. Just as great as always.

I really wish I didn't live so far from here. Easily one of the best burgers that I've ever had in my life. And the brick of onions was just fantastic to go with it.

Great atmosphere outside on the patio. They did jam a bunch of groups together when there was plenty of open space though. I assume it's for server sections. It's just a little irritating when you can't hear the people at your table when there is plenty of open space.

Asked for loose and crispy haystack but it was a bit compact and softy

Yet still good.
Burgers and French dip always amazing!

I started going to Hackneys when I was a kid, now I meet my best friends from high school for lunch every month. The food is still delicious and the atmosphere hasn’t changed. Sometimes when things stay the same, that’s a good thing. Going to Hackneys is like going home.
