We have dined at Hackney's since we rode horses at Northwestern Stables and also eaten at Hackney on Lake. Today we want to the Titanic exhibitions and the with the Hawthorn works "Eastland disaster". Each tragedy was covered in depth.

This was okay. I was hoping for something amazing, but most the food is very under seasoned. Love the historical significance of the place, but wouldn't come here all the time. Decent burger, onions are over hyped as they weren't salted.... A bit disappointing tbh
The burgers were excellent, prepared exactly as ordered. The Hackney Burger with crispy onion straws was a hit, no need for condiments with it's flavorful char served on dark rye. While we miss the Hackney's once located in Lake Zurich, this original location in Glenview shows why it's still a go-to spot for fantastic food and a variety of drinks options.

Go to Hackneys on Harms for the history and vibe of a homey grill that still feels like you are in someone's backyard eating home cooked food. Sadly, the burgers that made Hackneys famous are not worth ordering, and are barely edible. We have been twice, thinking the first must have been a fluke but same exact disappointing burger: a barely seasoned (maybe unseasoned) burger patty, cooked without achieving any color on the exterior (perfectly bland grey, with zero caramelization or crust), and set on a bun without resting the meat so the meat juices soak the bun. What was delivered each time was a burger whose bottom bun was so wet it was not edible, and almost no flavor to the meat. Worth me mentioning again that this happened on two visits, separated by over 2 years, with multiple burger orders each visit so not a fluke. Sad, because the meat blends itself appeared to be good, and the buns were soft and flavorful. The "famous" fried onion tasted of raw flour and dough, and needed some kind of sauce to be edible (but none was offered). The kitchen needs to be cleaned out (as in new chefs and cooks, not physically cleaned) to revive this historical place, but until that happens we will not be returning. We also tried other dishes but none were remarkable or worth visiting Hackneys on their own.

We loved the dome experience! It was great service! The dome was decorated for St Patrick’s Day and it had blankets and pillows with heaters. It was awesome

This is no longer the Hackney's I'm familiar with. I ordered a Reuben sandwich and got a sauerkraut sandwich with one layer of corned beef. In the past, you never had to ask for cutlery and condiments, now it's a true disappointment. Yet, they are charging more and you're getting way less for your money- NO MORE!
