As a local Korean, this one of my all time favorite restaurants in all of Illinois. There are other Korean restaurants in the area but Korean Spoon uses authentic recipes that make the food taste just like the food back in Korea, which is so hard to find in the Chicagoland area..!

I’ve tried a variety of other dishes as well but I love the kimchi stew as well as the noodles !!!

The owners are the friendliest and seem to have such a warm heart. 10/10 recommend the lunch options here and they also have a lot of Korean stews and banchans (side dishes) packaged and ready to be taken home :’) It tastes so much better than the banchans and the gimbap at Joongboo Market down the road

I am not Korean, but am widely versed in all East Asian cuisines. A few years ago, the Tribune did a story about how Korean Americans have moved out of "Koreatown" in Mayfair, to the suburbs of Park Ridge, Morton Grove, and Glendview, where, 50 years ago, I sprayed lawns for ChemLawn. I was between sociology careers, but noted that my customers were mostly of Southern and Eastern origin. I got a rice bottle of homemade wine ("you're a good hard working young man,"). So, we visited Korean Spoon right before the pandemic and had a delicious meal. Then they went to carryout, which was too far for us in Crystal Lake. Bottom line: This is a terrific Korean restaurant. kimbop, sundae, and the tteokbokki are delicious. The banchan are fine, and the people are nice. Non-Koreans, of whom I am one, should do some homework before going here. According to the Koreans who have posted here this is legit Korean comfort food, so come and eat. (And carry out! All sorts of pre-made food in the cooler. Raw spicy soft-shell crab, y'all?

First of all, I am very disappointed. There was a church event, so we catered about 40 servings for adults and children. We ordered jjolmyeon, japchae, pork cutlet, and kimbap, took them out, and ate them for dinner at a church event. However, the pork cutlet was dry and twisted, the kimbap was cold, and the spinach in the kimbap was sour that I couldn't eat it. The last part of the church event was a meal, but the children were not even allowed to talk about it. One person even said that the kimbap smelled like mold, but that wasn't the case. The ingredients in the japchae also smelled like mold, so I threw away the japchae without even burning my hands. I'm so upset. The church event was ruined. The children couldn't eat it. The dried and twisted pork cutlet didn't smell like mold, so they just ate it. Everyone reading this review. I sincerely hope you never order food from here. This is a place that sells poor food at high prices without any regard for the health and happiness of its customers. Thanks to your verification and confidence, I am posting an honest review.

Wow. This was my first time trying Korean food. I tried the pork kimchi and wow was it amazing. I have never tasted anything quite like it. I have a sensitive stomach and it never upset my stomach. The ingredients tasted so fresh and so good. I will be back to try more of the menu!

The biggest point for me was to be kind above all else.

It was a hidden gem I found. It looks like a 분식점 and the food was as good as I expected from a 분식점.
