Ordered carry-out from the Vernon Hills location and loved it! Fantastic quality ramen, flavorful broth and still hot after getting it home. Miso Ramen and Taiwan Ramen are fantastic, but beware that single pepper icon, because it’s no joke! (And I say this as someone who grew up eating spicy food 🙂) Delicious, but intense! I would LOVE to see a milder version of the Taiwan Ramen (or at least a way to adjust the heat, like the Spicy Miso), because the flavor was truly amazing and addictive.
the tamago Taiwan ramen is so unique and delicious. Tonkotsu ramen came with a very generous piece of chashu

Tip: Ramen House Shinchan at the Glenview location doesn't have sushi on the weekends. They only have it in the weekdays. They don't state this in the menu on their website or their online ordering system, but now you know.
I find the food at Ramen House Shinchan to be either very salty or oddly sweet. The Best Condition Ramen (stir fry vegetables) is delicious, but it's very salty. Fortunately, it's easy to fix the problem by adding hot water to the soup. The Tebasaki Chicken Wings and pork that accompanies some of their ramen are oddly sweet. It's like eating candied chicken wings. I would enjoy them better if they're savory. But it's refreshing that they give you a whole egg rather than half an egg like some Ramen places do. Staff are also very friendly.

We got takoyaki of course, delicious! The best condition ramen, and spicy miso ramen. I can tell so much about chefs skill when noodles and veggies are cooked right at any noodle places. Veggies and noodles were cooked to perfection. It's just chefs kiss. I haven't had veggies that's cooked to this perfectkon where they are still crunch and cooked with that perfect smoke. Noodles, omg yes! When rice and noodles are cooked to perfection, I can trust the kitchen. I had full meal 2hrs before but still finished everything because it was that good. So happy they opened in glenview. 10 stars!

Highly recommend! The miso ramen, dumplings, chicken wings, and kimchi were all very delicious. The marinated egg was 5 stars on its own. The hostess was very welcoming and helpful navigated the menu. I will be back!

I would never recommend this place to anyone. The beef curry is literally a bed of rice rice and 5 pieces of thinly sliced shriveled beef that you barely noticing when eating. Loaded with onions in every bite, quite nauseating even thinking of it. And for $20! It’s robbery, not respectable from a business and consumer standpoint and just unethical.
Overall the ramen is decent but you leave feeling like you spent too much and most likely won’t come back again.

Context: I went after the lunch rush, it’s was around 2/3 pm and was craving some Japanese food. I lived in Japan for 2+ years and fell in love with their food and culture. I really enjoy a good Ramen and/or Japanese Curry with their Pork Katsu. I read some of the reviews and decided to give this spot a try. Let me say, it did NOT disappoint.
As soon as I walked in, it reminded me a lot of your stereotypical hole in the wall spot throughout Japan. Family owned and ran, but so delicious and rich in customer service and authenticity. I was immediately sat down and of course ordered the Gyoza and Japanese Curry w/Katsu. I love the open kitchen concept where you can see how they prep your food and the smells were to die for.
The gyoza came and let me say, I’m used and expected the Americanized take on Gyoza where the sides are crunchy and you can tell they were quickly reheated, but this gyoza? Absolutely delicious. So soft and juicy. So delicious. Mouth watering.
When the curry came, the smells took me down memory lane. The last time I had this good and authentic Japanese Curry was at CoCos in Okinawa. I truly missed it. While it wasn’t a knock out of the park, as in the rice was decently good but not fluffy like they do in Japan, the curry and Katsu was beyond perfect. The only thing I’d like is if they offered spice levels where I can reminisce the good ol days of taking on spice challenges.
Either way, for a spot in the suburbs of Chicago, it’s as authentic as it gets…highly recommend this spot. Beyond delicious and I WILL be back.

Excellent place for ramen. The karaage is excellent too. Oh Gyudon is great, and so is the pork cutlet. It’s not a huge place to sit and when it is just sit on the counter area, you won’t be disappointed.

Worst ramen place ever. Ramen broth is very oily. We tried Donkotsu ramen and Katsu curry. They taste like very much butter. It’s not authentic ramen place at all. Don’t understand how they got such high ratings.
