First time going to O Jan’s. Food was amazing & i’ll be back. I don’t like large crowds so it was perfect in my opinion. i didn’t care about the “ambiance”. i was just ready to eat lol. the only thing i didn’t like was that a bench i sat on almost collapsed because it needed repairing. workers were friendly.

Last visit there my wife got the shrimp platter, it had a mold taste, I told the owner about it she preceeded to basically say I was lying over a $10 meal very insulting.

Best stand in Grafton. Best turtle soup and cat. Smoked sturgeon is amazing....always stop in here every time I ride my bike up and down both sides of the river...

We stopped in with family and had cod and catfish sandwiches. Fish very good and reasonable. We felt the counter people were courteous but we were respectful too. Recommend it highly.

OJans Fish stand is a bare bones restaurant serving fried fish, shrimp and assorted sides in Grafton IL. The food comes out hot and usually quick. The prices are pretty reasonable and it is reflected in the amenities you get. If you want just hot fish and chips and don’t care about ambiance or service, this is your place. The lady at the window is very rude and doesn’t know how to speak courteously to people. Overall, an okay place to visit, with potential for improvement.

Look, haters: Don't come here looking for a gourmet experience or a bougie food truck. This is a fish stand. It's in the name. It's been there forever, and there are plenty of Yelp reviews about what it is and isn't, so stop acting surprised. It's a bare bones operation and they do cash only because they don't want to raise prices to pay for credit card fees or have it eat into what marginal profits they probably have. I know that's a novel concept in today's society, but their business is probably 80% people who know them and know their policies. Food: I've been there around 10 times in a twenty year period. Every time was great. Fish crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Whatever sides were fine and fresh/hot. No fountain drinks and endless refills or lots of stuff for them to maintain and get dinged by the health department. If you like cola, cans of RC is what they have. Yep, you get some bread with your fish so you can make a sandwich. It's basically a Lenten place year-round. The service can sometimes be curt, but don't people love that at the cheesesteak places in Philly or at Ed Debevic's? They probably get tired of people coming up and asking tons of questions when they could've listened to those ahead of them or just asked someone around them. I'm giving it 5 stars because it's exactly what it is with tasty food at a great price.

I’d like to know why the proprietor is so rude every time I go into the fresh fish side??? Only reason I went there is because Beasleys was closed, for that very reason!!!My three pounds of cat fish fillets were put into an open plastic bag and into a grocery bag, not tied in a knot or with a freaking twist tie even and raw fish juice leaked into my freaking carpet in my car! I didn’t notice your slack packaging until I got home, an hour later!!! My bag of ice I purchased from you, sitting on my fish, all of it leaking merrily into my CARPET! Water dries well, so what, but raw fish juice???What is your issue???

Not enough food for the price, 2 small pieces of fish in a dinner. They don't give out courtesy cups of water. Very dirty place. Patio, the worn out table tops, deck ceiling, deck railing, deck floors, bathrooms and kitchen all dirty and filled with dust dirt, cobwebs spider webs.

2 fried Talipia on wheat, seafood gumbo or turtle soup, baked beans, onions, tarter sauce and 2 Ice cold Budweiser beers!! Oh MY! Sit on the top deck for the view. The family and girls are the best!! Take time to explore the area of Grafton while there. Great day trip for the family! Driving up the river road is worth the trip!

not the worst food in grafton but not very good either. the fish sandwich was just very flavorless fried fish between two slices of white bread - basically something you'd eat in a school cafeteria.
