Very good drinks. The Miller light was in a frosty mug and super cold and fresh. We had enchiladas and nachos which were very good.

Dinner on a Friday night was a great experience. This is not a fancy place but sits right in the middle of beautiful downtown Grayslake. The menu is simple and straightforward, basic Mexican food and pizza. The tacos were delicious and the service was friendly. Nothing incredibly unique but just good. Prices are very reasonable as well along with free chips and salsa at the table that were yummy!

We went there to see a blues band that was fantastic. Other than that, I wasn't impressed. The service was slow but friendly, and the whole place in general lacked any real ambiance. The food was OK, but nothing to rave about.

Poor service on a Friday night. Loud atmosphere and burritos were huge but overloaded with cheese and need a fork and knife to eat.

Here is another contender for the best Mexican restaurant in Grayslake. It's not too hard to accomplish because there aren't that many in town. Abel's has a pretty good balance between authentic and Americanized flavors. Featured on the menu are the essentials such as margaritas, as well as burritos and tacos obviously. The prices are pretty good for the portions and quality. After hanging around town the afternoon, we came for dinner in the evening. It's one of the restaurants in town that opens up later. This is kind of like a combination of a sports bar and a Mexican restaurant. For sure it doesn't feel authentic, but that doesn't mean it's bad. We of course had some of the good margaritas. It's about $8 for the classic. These were surprisingly big to be honest. As for the food, it was better than expected. I got the Burrito Plate. It's about $11 for a pretty big portion. Burrito was humongous. The vegetarian one had beans, cheese, which I left off, lettuce, tomatoes, and other vegetables. Also it came with sides of beans and rice. Good value. Also there's pizza if not wanting Mexican food. This can be a strange combination, but it works to be honest. Great place to get both Italian and Mexican food. If wanting a pizza, you can get it with Mexican toppings. There's a lot to choose from, as well as plenty of options for vegans and vegetarians.

Gave this place another chance. Still the same old practice going on. Nobody adheres to food safety. Oh sure they wear gloves, but what good are they when you pick your nose and rub your hair...and then touch food.

Definitely not a pizza spot worthy of a visit...Pizza is overrated on the reviews. This was not expected after seeing many "amazing pizza" comments.Being a pizza lover and literally trying every spot on the north shore, I was dying to try.I would like to follow the bandwagon but I have to be honest. I'd say at best a 1 out of 5 as a true and honest opinion.Do not let the photos deceive you.. I was excited upon arrival (as well as when it was brought out). The crust is definitely premade even if not totally taste like complete air, the cheese is extremely low quality for any restaurant that serves pizza (after 5 minutes of sitting it literally turns into plastic and becomes solid, 0 flavor at all) totally flavorless bar pizza,I boxed it up to go after a few bites. Not to insult but I blame myself for going to a Mexican restaurant for pizza.I have heard amazing things about their taco's from several people on a positive note. The next time I return I will definitely give other dishes a try.I don't mean to disappoint but the pizza is the absolute bottom for anything nearby.

GRACE WAS AMAZING, even in the face of absolutely chaos. She prevailed. Went with a very large group and they didn't have the staff to handle it but the did it. We have been there ateast 3 times the past week. Food is great, all the servers are friendly and quick. Love it here. We will be back.
