First time here and I'll definitely be back. Great family owned business and I'm glad that more and more food options are popping up in the Grayslake. Loved the lumpia. Some of the best around! Their drinks are fantastic as well as their Ube Cheesecake and Cinnamon Rolls.
Came for the second time today for a snack. Love the fresh ube tea. I’ve had the cassava and ube cheese cake and both were delicious. My mom enjoyed it as well. Happy they’re nearby! Chris is welcoming and kind, thanks!

Everything is so delicious! This kind of quality takes time, come with time to wait for them to make your food fresh! The drinks have all been delicious, they make their own ube in house and it's fantastic. Simple foods at their finest. Staff is polite and attentive. Their rewards program is pretty generous and stacks up quickly with a few visits! Halo halo is the best I've ever had!!5/3 just tried the CBSilog and it's soo amazing! The beef is tender like pot roast, and the tomato and onions are perfectly incorporated.
Saw a TikTok about this cafe so decided to come check it out. The Tocilog and Ube Milktea were great. Love the vinegar saw that came with it. I’d definitely recommend this to a friend and will be back.Wheelchair accessibility: Walk in no steps other than the curb of the plaza

This place had a very nice ambiance and the food is fantastic! The employees were nice to us new comers and recommended great food. Wait time was what is expected for the food quality. I got the Lechon sisog silog and my partner got the tocilog and both were excellent! I got the iced ube latte and it was very delicious.Will be coming back and bring family and friends!If I can make a suggestion: I would recommend to have clear signage that is simple to read. We kinda got lost while ordering food. Maybe have a large sign that says order here by the cashier. Since it wasn’t busy we were the first to order so we couldn’t follow along with the crowd so we were a bit confused. My husband and I have been here a few times and everything we have ordered from Merienda Cafe has been delicious. We went to the restaurant with a large group of 9 people and the staff were so accommodating and friendly. Everyone loved everything they ordered, including the drinks. It's so great to have this addition to Grayslake!

Love this place says the woman fed Filipino food 7 days a week by a parent who grew up working in her parents' Filipino restaurant. I had lots of taste flashbacks (corned beef, lumpia, nilaga, garlic fried rice) that caused me to immediately call my parents to fix me the same dishes in the coming week. Even with having a reliable supplier, I plan on returning again again for comfort foods and more creative takes on Filipino cuisine like the calamansi and salt and pepper wings. The server was so kind and made sure to check that my 5 yo wasn't melting over the spicy salt and pepper wings-he was fine and directed our table that he would not be sharing. My lunch date's family also gives 5 stars! Also, if they could make sapin sapin, I would give 10 stars (nudge nudge).Update: came back 5 days later-still delicious, lol. A+ to the bulgogi fries, B+ to the calamansi wings (a little tart). They've really mastered crispy wings!Parking: Huge strip mall parking lot.Kid-friendliness: Staff was very kind to our table of kids. There were high chairs available.

We ordered the Chicken Pancit, Bulgogi with garlic rice and an order of lumpia for take out! Food was still warm and fresh when we got home! The bulgolgi was very flavorful and when mixed with the garlic rice, it made it even better!The lumpia was excellent and crispy! Great flavor and the sweet chili dipping sauce was very tasty!My favorite was the chicken pancit. Really good mixture of rice noodles, carrots, cabbage and green onion. Good crunch and excellent flavor!I would get everything we ordered again. excited to eat here again!

I have eaten here twice, once by myself and once with my husband after I deemed it good enough to recommend. Food is delicious ?. I have tried 3 different dishes one of them being a soup. The only repeat ordered items were peach milk tea and lumpia. I just tried the loaded fries with my husband and we were in love and full. We are definitely coming back

This is a really special place and so needed in this area. We were instantly hooked after the first visit a week ago and couldn't wait to return today. We've had about 5 different menu items and have loved the taste and freshness. Plus the staff is incredibly kind!
How can you not be satisfied with this beautiful work of edible goodness! This was a great way to start my birthday evening! Food was great, and service was awesome! Flavors were definitely on point! Can't wait to o come back again!

When we walked inside of the door it took a while for them to acknowledge us until we just ask if we can sit at a table.We ordered a variety of food and drinks. There ended up being an error on our receipt where we were overcharged but when it was discovered they quickly addressed it and were very courteous about it so we definitely appreciate that.All the food is made to order and it was all very delicious. We loved the garlic fried rice and Ube boba drinks.
