It was ok. Loud patrons made it hard to enjoy meal. Food was good.

I almost never go to Golden Corral, but when I do, I apparently sign up for a survival experience. I can handle the food being ‘meh’ that’s expected. What I didn’t expect was my sandals sticking to the carpet like it’s a fly trap. Then there’s the steak station nothing like watching the same tongs touch raw meat, flip it on the grill, and then serve it straight to your plate. Delicious salmonella on the side, anyone? And the bacon? One side charred, the other side still oinking. As for the service, I hate not tipping, but when I have to chase down someone just to get a refill, I start questioning if I’m in a buffet or on an episode of ‘Survivor: Thirst Edition.’ Honestly, the only thing Golden about Golden Corral is how much they test my patience.

This was our first time here and we were expecting the overall atmosphere to be comparable to the one we went to in Missouri. The place is unclean, food not flavorful, and service not great.

The place was dirty and the buffet were the food is was empty and food all over the place not being clean up I had a salad and ask for croutons and they didn't have any and not to say I waited 20 minutes to get a answer.

I would have given them a zero if I could. I just had the worst experience ever at the Gurnee, IL location. The place was unsanitary, hardly any food choice, the first 3 pieces of chicken we had were bloody inside, the bread was old and hard. Only two drink choices because they ran out. Whatever food was left it was cold. There was flies around and we couldn’t eat in peace. The tables were dirty and hardly any employees available. This experience ruined how I felt about this place.

Under staffed or poorly trained. The buffet was out of numerous items. The steak was good but the person doing the steak seemed to be doing all the food prep.

My wife, child, and 2 of my grandkids went last Thursday (24th) at around 5:30-6pm. First off we put 2 tables together and were told we cannot do that for fire hazzard, that is fine, but then this couple came and had a huge stroller blocking the aisle, and nothing was said. Secondly, our server did not come to check on us one time, had to flag him down to get refills, and a cup of hot water for my grandchilds hot chocolate. He acted like I was bothering him. Thirdly, the food selection was not great at all, the mashed potatoes were cold, and when I told the lady behind the counter she acted disgusted. I will never go back to this golden corral, I wanted to talk to the manager but my wife talked me out of it... My 14 year old daughter said the bathroom was disgusting, and the icee machine was spitting out liquid and got on my white shirt. We will not be going back, this was my worst experience ever at a restaurant....

July 24, 2025 7pm, Food was cold, told manager, she went to check food.Never did she use a food thermometer. Desert containers were dirty and most of them were dirty. Servers were just standing around just chatting, doing nothing.
