Where do I begin? Welcoming atmosphere, clean restaurant, and attentive service. I'm not a margarita fan, but I thoroughly enjoy my strawberry margarita and would enjoy again! My fiancé ordered salsa and chips for an appetizer and we were both happily surprised with the fresh chips and tasty green salsa!
After enjoying our appetizer we both ordered their three taco dinner special for taco Tuesday. My fiancé order steak tacos and I ordered a combination of chicken tinga, chorizo, and their house special campechano. Everything was amazing!!!
My fiancé enjoys the spicier salsas and was offered a habenero red salsa. We sampled all three that was received and have nothing but good things to say about them all.

Mijo's' service is always friendly and welcoming! Thank you to them for also having roasted chickpeas as a protein option for plant based and vegan eaters! This is difficult to find as most places just remove the meat and then charge $3 for some avocado 🥑 but have no protein replacement. I really enjoyed going here nearly every week while living in the area!

It’s nice that Great America has a legit taco joint here. I have never been disappointed. Only complaint may be the portions aren’t super impressive but the quality is on point!

Hello Fox Lake. I have lived in Fox Lake for about 14 years. I have had food from just about every resturant/ bar in the area. I am a foodie. I am a taco junkie. I have had 1000s of tacos. I venture all over to find the best. I stopped here on Sunday and this is my 3rd time eating here.
Everything is delicious. The best flavor and everything made from scratch.
You will taste the love they put into their food.
To start their menu is simple and I really like that. They have mastered everything on it. The homemade chips/salsa/guacamole spot on. Their pastor, barbaquoa, and carne asada are the best! No gristle just meats. Their tortas and burritos mouth watering. Grab a Mijo Margarita while you are there you will be glad you did. They offer Cecina and fajitas as well. I am excited to try their breakfast. As soon as I do I will let you know. I believe not only is it the best Mexican in the area, I would put them as the number 1 place to eat in Fox Lake.
It is a family business and they all work in harmony to bring you a great experience. The vibe is chill and relax. The resturant is clean with clean restrooms and outside dining. If you stop in ask to meet Lorenzo one of the owners he is a real gentleman and would be happy to make your visit a great one. I am happy my wife and I now have a local spot to eat at. Buen provecho.

Excellent home style authentic. The Barbacoa Tacos are my favorite so far but everything we've had has been delicious. Family owned, friendly and courteous service. Love this place.

Mijo's is amazing! (Fox Lake location) I have been absolutely blown away by their service and food. Their chips and salsa are the best I have ever had, and the restaurant is immaculate and so well-decorated inside. The staff are attentive and caring, and the food is outstanding. Their consomme is incredible. Please give them a try, you will not be disappointed! Great prices too.
Mijo's is a favorite among my family and I. The freshness and quality of the food is always impressive. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the drinks are not to be missed. As someone who tends to avoid margaritas, I make an exception for Mijo's watermelon and mangonada margaritas, which are truly refreshing. My husband appreciates their selection of craft beers on tap. For a genuine Mexican food experience, Mijo's is the place to go.
