Updated!
We used to come to this restaurant often and always enjoyed our meals. However, today we arrived at 7:45 PM — still 15 minutes before closing — and were told they were already closed and couldn’t seat us. We drove 25 minutes for nothing.
Guys, if you set your closing time at 8:00 PM, that means guests can come in until 8:00, not that you close the doors at 7:45. Unfortunately, we’ll probably not come back again.
Very nice food, got duck curry special and liked it very much.
Definitely come back.

Portions are way undersized for the price. I ordered app, dinner entree curry with meat and ate all my rice and still very hungry. Flavor was authentic, however on the bland end. Considering portions, you must eat all the rice and that makes it extra bland. Disappointed and will be going somewhere else next time. Pictured is the small curry portion.

It's different than it was a few years ago. The food is still delicious. The atmosphere, however, no longer feels authentic with its elevator music and minimal design. Great for a sit down meal, but avoid delivery of you're hungry. This location prioritizes in-house orders over delivery service, which seems to be their bigger source of service.

Still delicious! We have been eating g here for 18 years. The food has been consistently tasty every time. The portions are large and the quality seems good. The seasoning and spice seems to be perfect. The drunken noodles and fried rice are our favorite go to dishes but there are others we enjoy also.

Nice people, good food, but, music was a little annoying.

We've gone to this restaurant since around the time it opened, and it is our favorite Thai restaurant in the northern suburbs. Sue, the owner, has always been very friendly.

I ordered from here before and it was fine enough for me to order again. I received my order all soggy from spilled soy sauce which is whatever, humans make mistakes. My pad thai had egg shells in it which is not a pleasure change of texture. But again, humans make mistakes and it’s not that big of a deal. But what really made me throw away the whole meal was a curly hair. Don’t want to know where it came from.

Came to royal thai with my mom today for lunch to satisfy a pregnancy craving for yellow curry! The food was delicious and the lady up front was so kind and sweet. I recommend their lunch specials, great deal and great food!! 🙌🏻

Offered food and asked for a refund after it took 35 min to bring out food for dine in that was in plastic containers and they said it’d take 5-10 min. Horrible service don’t waste your time and money. Idk why they don’t just do better, the only reason they stay in biz is cause there isn’t any other Thai food around. Shameful.

Don’t bother dining at this establishment, they shouldn’t even have dine in. Your food is served in plastic to go containers even though you pay full price plus tip…we were told it would be 10-15 minutes and sat there for almost an hour waiting for our food, we finally saw the food being put into plastic containers and we stopped them and asked for a refund. As far as how good the food was, I will never know because I don’t eat hot food served in plastic…

A perfect lunch time meal right outside of Six Flags. The food was delicious. The space is comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed the pad see ew and the pad kee mao. 10/10. The fried egg rolls were very good as well. My favorite dish was the wonton prawns. They had a nice black pepper flavor and a scrumptious, tangy sauce to accompany. And you can see the rides right out the window! I can’t wait to return.

I was very disappointed that their dine-in service uses plastic containers and Styrofoam cups.
Both of these cause disruption in the body; in other words, serving hot food in plastic is harmful. People need to be educated about items that are poisonous to our bodies.
For this reason I walked out.
My go to for the best panang curry! (Can be made Vegan)
