Its ok. Food was ok at best. Ok service. The scan ticket for the drinks gets a 0 hence the 1 for atmosphere! That's a terrible experience! We spend good $ to have to use a ticket (that doesn't work that well) to refill a drink. Don't be so cheap!

Steak and Shake is one of my favorite places to go. When my wife and I passed through Gurnee we always stop because we don't live around one.
I don't know what it is about this location but they always have the rudest people in the Drive-Thru. My wife had to practically screen for them to take our order then they had us come to the window they did not acknowledge if they even got our order. By that point they were so angry that we were ordering food we almost just left and we should have because they ended up charging us double for our order. But the extremely rude lady running the drive-thru decided not to give us a receipt so we can't even dispute it.

My group and I waited 45 minutes to have our food mad. When our order was called and we sat down to eat, our fries were cold, burgers were almost cold, and our cups of cheese were cold. We asked if they could reheat or make us new ones, they did but they were hesitant. Also, there were mountains of garbage in their 2 garbage areas, the tables were dirty, and there was weed in the bathroom sink. Not only that, one of the employees was picking up garage without gloves and he saw 3 cups (which were touched by customers) & he put them back into the cup dispenser after people have touched those cups and after he just finished picking up garbage bars handed. First time at this location and I'm never going back to it.

This Steak n' Shake in Gurnee never disappoints! From the friendly and courteous staff, it is always clean and organized. My kids love the Cotton Candy shakes, and our family dines here every few months and we always order their delicious burgers!! Just dined in again recently, their management is a positive reflection on their staff and vibe of the restaurant! 😃 🍔🥤✨️

I ordered a burger from a rude waitress. Every since they renovated, the food has gone downhill. I hear they're still using seed oils and lying about it. I thought they were supposed to use tallow? Also the merch is CRAZY. What were they thinking? There was a hair in my burger. Long and straight and blonde. How nasty is that?

Managed to not put any condiments or toppings on our burgers (no pickles, no ketchup) and the young woman with the nose ring working on October 4th had to be prompted 5 minutes after waiting to give us our drinks. Absolutely abhorent service and product. I will be giving my money elsewhere in the future, this place is a dump.
