I am beyond upset with my experience at the Texas Roadhouse in Gurnee.
We ordered takeout, and I found an actual nail in my salad. This is not an exaggeration. A metal nail was inside food prepared and sold by this restaurant. I could have choked, broken a tooth, or been seriously injured.
When we first contacted the restaurant, we were told to call the corporate office. We did. Repeatedly. No one answered. We left messages. Eventually, we received a note in the mail asking us to reach out again, which we did, and still could not get anyone on the phone.
When someone from corporate finally called me back, a woman named Jackie, her tone was accusatory, aggressive, and dismissive. She repeatedly stated that they do not have nails or screws in their restaurant, which made absolutely no sense. When I pointed out that if that were true, then the implication would be that someone intentionally put it in my food, she backtracked and said she could not say that either. Instead of focusing on the safety issue, she treated me like I was making something up.
She then told me she was not going to stay on the phone because I was angry. Of course I was angry. I had a nail in my food. Any reasonable person would be angry in that situation.
The only positive part of this entire experience was the local store manager, who my husband spoke with directly. He was calm, reasonable, took this very seriously, and handled the situation appropriately. We appreciate his response and professionalism.
However, the corporate response was completely unacceptable. Food safety is not something to minimize, deflect, or accuse a customer over. The lack of responsiveness, followed by an aggressive and dismissive call, made an already alarming situation much worse.

I'm addicted to their steak kabobs. The rice and veggies are so delicious. I also like the reservation app. It definitely reduces the amount of time spent waiting there.

We had an amazing experience thanks to our server, Vanessa. From the moment we arrived, she treated us with so much dedication, patience, and a genuine smile that made us feel truly welcome. She was always attentive, kind, and professional, making sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. Thanks to her excellent service, we were able to fully enjoy our meal. My husband and I went to Texas Roadhouse to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We felt welcome from the minute we walked in. We were seated and our waitress Laura was amazing! Actually, the entire experience was outstanding. Food was delicious and beer was really cold! I had mentioned to our waitress and what I think was the manager who visited our table asking my husband how he was enjoying his prime rib, that it was our anniversary. Just as we were finishing up and boxing up food to go, our table was surrounded by the wait staff. They announced our names and our special occasion and had a saddle on a stand that my husband got on as they got the restaurant to wish us happy anniversary with a big yee hah!! Plus, my husband is a Navy vet (and I’m a Marine vet) and he was wearing a Persian Gulf veteran hat. The manager gave my husband a really nice cammie hat and thanked him for his service. They also gave us a little ornament and a printed out happy anniversary sign that had been signed by the employees! I cried and I can’t tell you how much we loved our experience!! We live 10 minutes from this restaurant and I can guarantee you we will be there often! Thank you so much Gurnee Texas Roadhouse! ♥️♥️

Great food. I got a 16oz steak finished it was happy with the beef and got the apple pie. Hot with ice cream great end. No complaints wish I could tip more. Would recommend and I will be back for the 23oz porter house
Minor mess up but that doesn't take away from the service and great tasting food. The atmosphere was amazing as what you would only expect from Texas Roadhouse. And, the smiles never stop. This is a very very busy Texas but they worked seamlessly through. High five on that. (Its the only reason that the minor mess up meant almost nothing) but im also a very positive person. It has to rain pretty hard for anything negative to be said. Great job to the TR group holding down the fort in Gurnee 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Great food great building however your staff has no Humanity in them so much as asking for a slice of cake for somebody's birthday, furthermore I have had your beef tips numerous amount of times in the first time I get it for takeout there's about 25% less then what I would have ordering it dine-in

Texas Roadhouse is an amazing place for dates & getting a good meal! My husband and I come here every few months for a small date. We got the spicy version of the cactus blossom & would get it again. Staff is always friendly and personable.

We came here today for a loved one's Birthday it was my idea to come to this Texas Roadhouse in Gurnee.The disappointed 😞 was a 10/10 people working looked down and sad and were unattentive.We ordered steak and chicken my chicken was hard as a brick.I asked if they had any small birthday cake or birthday dessert answer was no.Food quality was poor even though I paid for this experience I am still hearing how disappointed my son is on his birthday and that his steak way dry.In addition my plate was dirty this was expensive for what???? The location in Kenosha they all sing and dance with a lively atmosphere.Not only am I stuck with the bill but I am also stuck with disappointment on my loved one's Birthday.I would not even rate it one star but I had no choice $69 dollars in wasted money and a bummer of a birthday
