We've eaten at Stemm's at two of their previous locations, and are thrilled that they are now in our neighborhood. They have extended their menu, so there is a lot to try! We ate there Sunday with a group from our church, and enjoyed delicious food and a chat with the owners and some of the servers. We'll be back!

Going to Stemms is such a treat. They have a large menu to choose from. Their omelets 12/10. The owners are so kind. Check them out!!

Stemm's Cafe & Coffee Shoppe: Promising Potential, But Pricy and Some Bread Woes

Stemm's Cafe & Coffee Shoppe, a relatively new establishment at the local golf course in Carterville, offered a decent lunch experience for our party of four. The restaurant wasn't overly busy during our visit, which contributed to a relaxed atmosphere.

The service was efficient and timely. Our drink orders were taken and delivered quickly, and our food arrived after a reasonable wait. However, it's worth noting that this isn't a place for a quick bite if you're in a rush. On the downside, the prices felt a bit on the high side for what's offered.

Turning to the food, the cobb salad was a definite highlight – very well prepared and enjoyable. Unfortunately, the subs were a significant miss. The main culprit was the bread, which was simply too much and too hard/tall for a sub. It made it quite challenging to bite into without causing the fillings to spill out. In fact, we all shared the same opinion regarding the difficult bread. Perhaps serving it with a side of au jus to soften it might make it more palatable, but as it stands, I wouldn't opt for a sub again on a return visit.
In summary, Stemm's Cafe & Coffee Shoppe has a good foundation with its pleasant service and some strong menu items like the cobb salad. However, the pricing and the issues with the sub bread are areas that could use some attention to elevate the overall dining experience.

been in there a couple of times. first time, I had the 1/2 Italian beef sandwich and fries. it was delicious. the second time, my wife and I went in on a Sunday. we both had the stems stack. it, too, was delicious, the wait staff both times were incredible, and friendly, and the owners, Jason and Trish were also very kind and very appreciative of the business. the atmosphere is very pleasant, and it's a great place. we will definitely be returning, as it has become one of our favorite establishments. thanks for opening here in carterville, and we look forward to many more visits, and great food and customer service

Absolutely amazing place! The work that Jason and Trish have put into this restaurant is amazing, and it shows in their quality of food, customer service and overall atmosphere. Definitely worth the visit. You won’t be sorry!

This is the best cafe & coffee shop I have been to in a long time. The food was great, the service was exceptional, the whole staff was friendly and worked as a team. I tried the French toast sandwich and it was perfect. Also the cinnamon roll and 1/2 order of biscuit and gravy were really good too. Shout out to the barista who made a Café au lait that wasnt on the menu. The options are many and I can't wait to go back to try something.

I tried Stemm’s Street Cafe today for the first time. The cinnamon roll & Greek salad were excellent! Fast friendly service! 10/10 would recommend!
