I recently purchased some of their kolchki sold at a local Polish deli (Carpathia in Schererville IN which BTW is excellent). Half went to the birds. The fruit fillings were fine but the pastry was just...off. The texture was too bready and crumby. I'm used to the ones made with cream cheese that are denser and more toothsome. It's a shame; I won't buy them again.

I tried to order a cake from here and not only were they rude the phone got passed around a couple of times. I asked what flavors they had and the lady automatically assumed I wanted an atomic cake, which I NEVER said. No one in my family even likes atomic cake. I left the order as is and found another bakery to order from. When I tried to call back they kept picking up and hanging up on me, when I finally got a woman on the phone she was super rude and put me on hold and never picked up.I wanted to try this bakery because I remember my grandma used to go here when I was little but instead I ended up with disappointment. I’m not even sorry for my no call no show for the cake. Learn how to answer the phone and not be rude.

This bakery has fabulous food. The service is terrible. Not enough help at the counter. I stood in line for 10 minutes. One person was ahead of me. She was complaining of the service. People would enter the store, go up to the counter, start speaking polish and would be waited on at the spot. There were six more people behind me. There were two older women waiting on customers. One went in the back and totally disappeared. Finally the woman ahead of me was waited on. She purchased quite a bit . That took 5 minutes. Meanwhile the lady that disappeared in the back decided to return and help a gentleman that just walked in the door. How rude!! Older man behind me was in a walker. He was not happy.Shame on you Olympia Bakery!!!

I grew up in Jystice 50 yrs ago with this bakery. I guess it has been sold. When I was in town today I was excited to make a special trip there. I bought kalatchki, and they are terrible. No filling and dry. The canolli was just ok. The cake was ok, nothing special like it use to be. I won't return
The last 3 times we’ve been here and I buy their rose panchki, they are at least from a day ago. Nasty! I couldn’t bite into one the last time I got them! So we kept going back and both the second time AND third I asked and told the girls they are at least from yesterday IF not older!!! Never had this issue before!! Everything was always fresh, except the panchki!! PLEASE FIX IT, QUIT BEING CHEAP!!!

The baked goods are ok but the service is TERRIBLE. For years the staff have treated the customers like they are doing you a favour to serve you. There was a brief improvement when the business was close to bankruptcy but it seems that they are back to their old tricks. The service was slow and arrogant. It would be nice to support local business but there are other nice places in Kalkbay.
