Was at Port Clinton Art Fair, had just gotten Italian ice, and saw these beautiful croissants out of the corner of my eye. I quickly did an about face. The Crème Brûlée croissant 🔥🔥and the Almond Croissant 🥇if you guys already do a Koigin Aman, I need to try it, if you don,t, you should!,Your laminated dough is wonderful & buttery, top notch.

Lady behind the counter was nice. Food was awful. Got the buffalo chicken sandwich. Couldn’t even eat it. The chicken was way too tough Chewing on a hockey puck.

Very bad service, coffee like water. Pastry after 10 minutes warming was still cold!
I have had some amazing crepes, benedicts and omeletttes here! A great ambience with people on laptops as well as those who are there for their breakfast/brunch. My go to place for coffee and a quick breakfast!

We met with friends we hadn't seen since covid. It's a very comfortable coffee shop. We sat for 3 hours & never a hint they thought we should leave. They have a wonderful variety on the menu. Most of which is pretty healthy.

I love this place!! The vibe is so chill and i love sitting by the window looking out on the street! The chairs are very cozy. The staff are extremely friendly. The rosemary ham omelette is one of new favorite! ❤️
I love this place to meet friends and enjoy a coffee.
The food also looks delicious - especially the savory pies. Everything is made in house - including the croissants!
Such a wonderful addition to HP!

I am a neighbor and would come here occasionally. I generally think of this place as a great place for coffee, to come with the kids, or to grab a sandwich.
BUT, today the food was gross, bread was old, chewy, and hard. Crepe was dry and barely filled. The only good things were the kids food…. Which lets me honest, they weren’t too impressive. It might have been that they were busy, but when I asked the cook to toast the bread he responded he was busy and disregarded me. A while later brought the exact same sandwich back and pretty much threw at the table.
Lesson learned: if the place is busy, the food is rubbish. Just do a coffee or a pastry.

My friend and I came to Central Cafe for brunch and coffee. The food and coffee were good and are not the reason for the 1 star rating…. The reason for the 1 star rating is the atmosphere. There was a strong unpleasant grease odor. The odor clung to our clothing long after we left the cafe. To the point that my family commented on my smell when I returned home, hours later.
I’d suggest ordering for pickup. If you insist on dining in, I’d advise you not to have an event or any plans afterwards as you will pick up and carry this offensive odor afterwards.
It’s a shame.

My ham and cheese croissant that I got was stone cold in the middle. I ordered a cappuccino breve and they used regular milk.

Wonderful selection of delicious treats with lots of sweet and savory options. Delicious coffee.
Best of all is the attentive staff! I spilled my coffee on the way out, and before I could turn around, 2 employees were cleaning up, asking if I was ok and starting a new coffee for me.
Thank you so much! Will definitely come again!

My new happy place in Highland Park. Ordered the Central Quinoa Bowl—healthy ingredients, well put together, and tasty. Good coffee in a ceramic cup. Carrot cake had nuts, no food color, and only $5. Plenty of available tables inside and out. Good service. Will return frequently.
