“I haven’t been to a Dennys in several years (and don’t have great memories) and I stopped in with my 3 toddler daughters for a quick breakfast between Saturday activities. Our server, Alejandra, was so so kind and patient with my girls, despite them being fairly demanding. Our service was fast, attentive and got everything we needed without hiccups. The food was much better than I remembered (objectively good) and came out quickly. The restaurant is quiet and clean, a great place to take kids-their kids menu is very flexible and they can accommodate odd toddler requests for chicken tenders paired with chocolate chip pancakes.”

“These scones are AMAZING! He had bagels one day, and it was quite the treat. My grandfather has been a regular customer for years, and can confirm the quality is consistent and customer care is superb. Many people think of scones as dry, but these are wonderfully moist! My suggestions would be the apple cinnamon or strawberry scones for a first time try.Dietary restrictions: They had options for vegan and gluten free sensitivities. Not all options are gluten free, but are clearly labeled as such.”

“Been a few times. Always so good and the service is excellent. They’re always very accomdating when we bring our baby daughter. We’ve recommended it to friends and family and they’re always impressed too! Glad to have this place in downtown HP.”

“This was the first time here and definitely will not be the last, starting off, our server was the best (Monica) she was attentive and was there each time we needed something, she was very personable and an assett to the restaurant. Next... the food (fairly priced)EVERYTHING was fresh, hot and DEELISH, and we were celebrating 2 birthdays, which each person got a birthday card signed by the staff, it was a nice touchI definitley recommend this place.”

“Hi, BellaRu is phenomenal! Maya is a great chef and her staff is marvelous. I hosted a party and the food was tasty, freshly made in my kitchen, beautifully served and TASTY!! We are vegetarian and like spice but more so flavor and Maya and her staff delivered 100%. Thanks for a fabulous time, great food and excellent service. Looking forward to doing it again soon!”

“HP institution. Norton's is a great little bar. A bit pricey for the end product, but they have decent bar food and better-than-bar food, along with a nice selection of beverages. A small variety of taps, though what they do have are fine choices. Good service. Gets a little loud sometimes, but it's a bar. Whaddaya gonna do?”

“Service, ambiance, atmosphere and wine is what you will find at this location. There are some foo foo small bite foods available as well but I did not get into those upon my initial visit. This is a lovely fairly recent addition to Highland Park and one that I recommend you explore. If the name sounds familiar, it should. There are two other locations you may very well be familiar with, one on Waukegan road in Wheeling, and the other in Roselle. I would recommend starting with a flight to get a better feel for the range of wines they offer. There are your expected staples, along with some more aperitif sweeter options. Some of my faves this visit were the Tempranillo 2019,Sauvignon blanc, and the Syrah. The sweets were honestly too sweet for this kid. There is a wine club that you can join and I recommend that you do, we did! If you are looking for a third place to catch up with friends or family, the HP location will definitely lend itself well. Also take advantage of Wine Down Wednesdays for additional deals as well. If you happen to be visiting The Lot for an event, caddy corner across the street, this venue is literally steps away, be sure to stop in and say hello. If needed, the parking across from the venue allows three hours free.”

“Great brews and great food!Stopped here after the botanical gardens. It is like a 6 minute drive from the gardens. And worth the trip for sure. The birria and mardi ramens were fantastic! Fried ramen was great too!Can't wait to go back!”

“I really wanted to love-love this place. Cool art deco meets art nouveau atmosphere. Smilish novelties for sale. Good enough chai and menu offerings. But man, a simple “hi” attitude and a some background music would go a long way in this joint. After all, today is the greatest…. (P.S. awesome Chop Suey sign!!)”
