Lao Sze Chuan Highland park Reviews
I want to thank Tony for bringing the finest and most delicious Szechuan cuisine to the North Shore. I live downtown and have visited his restaurants in Chinatown and Michigan Ave. The food is exception each and every time I go to either location. When the "coming soon" sign popped up in Highland Park, I could not have been more thrilled, considering the food at our local chinese restaurants refuse to raise the bar on their food. Unfortunately, our experience was negatively impacted by the poor customer service we received from the older staff member. It’s disappointing because the food was delicious, but her attitude was unwelcoming and made us feel uncomfortable, even when asking for something as simple as a fork. We hope customer service improves, as the quality of the food deserves a much better overall experience.
Great find! Everything was amazing!!!

Lao Sze Chuan is a Sichuan restaurant known for its impeccable service, with friendly and efficient staff who ensure that food is served hot and glasses are always full. The kitchen can be hit-or-miss, but dishes like the reliable Dry Chili Chicken and Orange Chicken are highlights. The Orange Chicken is praised for being nice and crunchy, unlike the soggy versions found in other restaurants. Portion sizes are generous, and prices are reasonable for similar restaurants. The Fried Rice is flavorful, although there are mixed reviews about its consistency. While the location is convenient with nearby parking, the hallway and restrooms could use more attention, and some customers noted that the tablecloths were not well presented. Despite some inconsistencies, Lao Sze Chuan remains a solid choice for Sichuan food in the North Shore suburbs, with attentive service and a pleasant dining environment.
