As mentioned by many the food and service are fantastic. Location is good as well with nearby parking and good people watching. Same note as others that they do need to put a tad bit more effort into the hallway and restrooms; there’s a ton of food stacked in the hallway and the bathroom was not clean nor maintained at all. So, good food and a nice dining room with super attentive service; just avoid the hall and bathrooms.
Lao Sze Chuan has converted my husband into loving Chinese food. I am grateful for this, because I adore different regional cuisines of China, and I can finally enjoy takeout with my husband,

Lao Szechuan used to be one of only a few Sichuan restaurants in the Chicago area. There now is a lot of competition and Lao Szechuan has not kept up. Service is impeccable- friendly, efficient staff that makes sure food is served piping hot and glasses kept filled. The kitchen is hit and miss on dishes, which is particularly annoying when the dishes are Sichuan staples.
