Restaurant offers a nice atmosphere. Staff is friendly and service is quick even during peak time. Menu offers a few unique dishes you can't find many places elsewhere. Smoked malai chicken, bhagan bhartaa, palak paneer, and khichdi risotto were all delicious. Paan ice cream was a delicious dessert. Would recommend this place.

Came by on a busy Saturday night. No reservations were available, but luckily they take walk-ins on a first-come, first-serve basis at the bar. The two of us shared several dishes. Everything had familiar Indian flavors but was packaged in creative ways. Highly recommend!

Entering this fine Indian establishment you are greeted at the door by a lovely host who makes you feel like an old friend. The space itself is light and airy. Our server was incredibly funny and knew the food and what to recommend. You will feel very comfortable here. When the place is full it does get a bit loud, but it's not overwhelming. You can still have a conversation.
The Bhoomi Burger is a chargrilled, lightly spiced lamb burger. If you like lamb you will love this burger. Absolutely delicious. It is served with caramelized onions, cabbage and avocado (which adds a nice creamy texture) and Indus's special chimmichutney on the side. Add it or don't. Either way, the burger tastes amazing. I would order it again!
Get some garlic naan to share. Also the creme brulee is delightful.

A wonderful addition to the buzzing HP food scene, Indus serves up well made Indian classics with a modern twist in a cozy space. We came here the night before Thanksgiving, and the place was full. Our waiter, Angel, was the right amount of humorous, friendly and attentive. I had a chicken tikka masala (very tasty!) with basmati rice, my friend tried the lamb burger, and for dessert we had the crème brûlée and the lychee kulfi. In the kulfi dish, the cardamom cakes were served with a rose shaped lychee ice cream - lychee is tricky because it can easily taste like soap (not unlike rose water), but this lychee ice cream was so well balanced in flavour that I just didn’t want it to end (and it was really pretty, too). I highly recommend Indus and for sure will be back (and I will definitely try the Dirty Chai Martini next time!)!

Great food. Some of the tables are too close together. Our server was terrific!

One of the best Indian restaurants in the north suburbs. Lovely ambiance and fantastic service, they really do put in a lot of effort to get to know their guests.
Highly recommend that kokum mezcal cocktail, goat biryani and lamb shank. They did a customized paneer tikka masala for one of our guests.
Do feel it’s a bit on the expensive side if you are used to the traditional Indian restaurants in the suburbs, but they provide with better service and a lot more flavor creativity than more places.

The decor is bright and airy and modern and the servers were extremely pleasant and attentive. Wife’s cup of hot water was constantly full. The food was however a mix. The bhindi was great. Essentially an okra julienne delightfully flavored and fried. The masala brisket was not great. The lean portions were dry and overdone. Only the fatty portions were tender. I really couldn’t make out the masala rub taste. Banana leaf wrapped fish was decent but nothing special. Indian mule cocktail was very good. Overall for the price and quality I can only give this 3 stars.

Very great experience. The owners were very welcoming and accommodating. The dishes that particularly stood out were the Indus Dal (definitely get this) and the Okra. The paneer tikka and palak paneer were also very good. This is a place worth checking out. Make sure to make reservations because this place was packed on Saturday night.

For dessert, the paan ice cream is the best paan cream that I have ever had. It’s an authentic taste of what paan is really suppose to taste like. If you’re not a fan of paan, or have never tasted paan before, you probably won’t like it; paan is definitely an acquired taste.

Vegetarian options: Great options for vegetarians.

Dietary restrictions: Multiple options on the menu for vegetarians.

I’ve been here twice and while the food is good, the service was very slow - both times. The staff are clearly overloaded with tables.

Our most recent experience was offensive. We were still eating dinner and I still had a half a glass of wine left when the owner of the restaurant told us he had to clear our table for another party that had been waiting “a long time.” Again - the service was incredibly slow and we weren’t there for very long - so this is their problem, not ours. The owner offered to move us to another table - and since we were not done, we did.

When we ordered dessert at our new table, the owner came back - not to say thank you for accommodating their own mismanagement, but to explain the origins of the dessert.

This is not the way to treat customers when you are a new restaurant. We were very disappointed.
