“Food was phenomenal. Service was great. We really enjoyed those two things. Unfortunately, if you're Black, be prepared to be grossly stared at. My mother and I were the only ppl of color there and multiple people couldn't stop themselves from staring at us like we were aliens that shouldn't have been there. The folks who worked there were fine which is why I'm not penalizing them in this rating but Highland Park needs to do better. Black people aren't going to stop existing. Sorry.“

“An old favorite. Excellent breakfast great coffee good service all of the things that make it the standard that it is. The only downside is everybody knows about it so the lines are typically pretty long. If you come during peak time it might be a good 30 to 40 minutes before you get seated and the parking lot might be full. It is also very kid friendly so expect it to be loud and sometimes with crying children.“

“Last place I know of that still makes everything from scratch. You can totally taste the difference. I have never eaten hash browns that are this “potato” fresh- not ever. And if you choose the “fresh fruit” option, it seems like they literally just sliced it up before they put it on your plate. I have never gotten fruit here that is dehydrated on the edges like you get at a lot of restaurants where you can tell it’s been sitting “cut up” for a long time waiting to be plopped on a plate. I know that’s considered normal prep work for most kitchens but i’m convinced this place must slice at the moment before they serve it because it’s still juicy you can just tell it’s just been cut.“

“Wow. Get the ham and crab jian bing. It is outstanding. All the textures in one bite. Tender, crunchy, chewy, warm. Total mouthful. The veg is fresh, not droopy. It's made to order and ready fast. If you have to eat and go, they even give you a disposable glove. Fantastic.“
