Ordered today’s six course tasting menu, mandarin/orange themed throughout, unique and delightful. Duck was tender and cooked to perfection. Portion is good, just the right amount to satisfaction.

Yoooooooooo!!! No Joke, just had the best Chicken Sandwich I’ve ever had in my life!!! 6-8 oz chicken breast cooked crispy on the outside and juicy in the middle, was topped with a white cheese, avocado and 2 Strips of delicious Bacon on a Buttered Brioche Bun!!! It was Bomb. Period. Don’t let the strip mall fool you, inside is a clean sports ambiance with many T.V.’s and absolutely amazing food!!! Thanks guys ? Keep up the great work!!!

This is the NEW Players Grill! The owners unluckily bought this restaurant right before Covid struck, remodeled the entire place which is clean as a whistle, and fought the eat home necessity during Covid to make a success. Peter and Julie are genuinely lovely, very determined hard-working people who have increased their crowd slowly but surely. Initially they didn't have much help other than themselves, and now they have a terrific bartender and wait staff. The owners serve quality food and do not skimp on portions. They have brought back the old bagel chips which are addicting. We try to support them often, as they deserve to be patronized. I am pretty fussy when it comes to food and have never had a bad meal here. It is light enough, not crazy-crowded so you're sitting in the person's lap at the next table, the tables are well-spaced, you can actually talk to the people at your table, and every server is customer-oriented. Their poppy seed house dressing is good enough to drink. The fried shrimp are big, crispy, and meaty, the salads large and interesting/delicious, pistachio-crusted salmon very good, Chato's chicken my favorite, and on and on. I have no idea what the complainers are talking about - we eat there every week and their complaints are unfounded, not that every restaurant doesn't have a bad night. Players is the new guy in town and the community should give them try! Our daughter from LA loved it - talk about fussy - she's it! They need to advertise, put a candle or flowers on each table, and offer special food/liquor deals at the bar. Spread the word....this place is a gem! They take reservations and the line should be out the door! Run, don't walk!Vegetarian options: Plenty for vegetarians on the menu - want something special, ask. Long time carry out customer. Always got beef ribs or The Max, skirt steak sandwich with Onion straws. Everything used to be great. Last few times...horrible. Ribs so well done they were inedible last time, so stopped ordering them. Delivered to wrong address last two times. Sat. night ordered The Max. Asked to substitute "onion RINGS" for fries. Told no substitutions. asked if they had onion RINGS. She said yes. Asked them to hold fries, include an order of rings and I would pay. Order came with onion STRAWS, which I would not have ordered as they are also on sandwich. Sandwhich was inedible. Meat so tough it could not be chewed. Called the next day and asked for a manager. He , Pete, said he was. Started my story. He told me"as a long-time customer, you should have know they were onion straws". I said I would have known if they didn't tell me they had rings. I started to tell him about the sandwich and he said "I'm refunding". I tried to continue so he would know they were sending out inedible food. He cut me off, asking "do you want the Refund?". End of conversation. He refunded the $21 for the sandwich, nothing for the "non-onion rings". Should have apologized and refunded the entire $71 bill. I have heard from others the place was sold and gone way down hill. Lost me for sure. BEWARE.

Out of beef ribs the evening we were there. Bummer. Pork ribs were good salad was also good. Would eat here again.

I had the barbecue chicken with baked potato and a salad with the fresh made in house ranch dressing. The barbecue sauce was great and the chicken was cooked to perfection. The baked potato was huge and the salad dressing was delicious. The service was excellent, every time my drink got low there was a fresh one in front of me, watching the Cubs game while dining was enjoyable. 5 stars for the food and service!

Beautiful relaxing atmosphere, the food was amazing!! We had a party of 7, we all ordered different entree's, the servings were all VERY generous, nice presentation, and we all agreed, this place is a hidden gem!!
Great food, friendly staff, and lots of cool sports memorabilia. I recommend the HP burger - a juicy patty with blue cheese, avocado, and bacon, but honestly everyone else's dishes looked amazing too. Came with a very generously sized side of fries as well. Will definitely be coming more often!

My wife and I have ordered from Players once a month since 2017. I always get a full slab of ribs. On my two most recent orders, the ribs have been badly over cooked. Considering what they charge, that was a sincere disappointment. Because it happened twice, I'm under the impression that something significant might have occurred over there, and so we have decided to stop ordering from them for a while.

Under new management I can only speak highly of this resturant. The servers were great. They were so kind and pleasant. The food was great and full of flavor. I'm excited to see how this long family owned resturant will continue to grow and continue to impress me.

Great atmosphere, amazing service an overall hidden jewel in the Northshore. Our waitress made sure my party was well taken care of. I had the the Ribs which were out of this world! This was my third time at this location and the manager actually remembered me from the last time I was there. I know with the pandemic all local eateries are struggling, so I am making it a point to make sure I do my share to support the establishments that are doing what they can to make us feel secure and normal during these abnormal times! Thanks for the 1st class treatment- I’ll be back!
