I am 99% sure that their biscotti was made with Betty Crocker special seasonal edition, sugar cookie with caramel premade cookie mix and they added a little butter and flour to the consistency of the biscotti. It took a few hours for me to figure out where I had tasted that flavor and texture before. Oh, it was sweet all right but they had just re-assembled a Betty Crocker box mix. I think it's dishonest and I think it's Franken food.

Just like in life, everyone deserves a second chance. This is my third time at Sugarcoated and my second review. This time everything purchased was wonderful and as fresh as could be. My biggest surprise was the Old Fashion Oatmeal cookie, there are not your grandmother’s oatmeal cookies, these are amazing! I also feel a real good vibe from the owner who was very cordial and appreciative of my support. I will be back!

Hands down--this is the best bakery in the north shore. Everything from their cookies, bars, and artisan cakes are absolutely impeccable. Being in my 20s, I appreciate how they put a modern twist on all their speciality cakes and cookies. I have brought their cookies to parties and everyone raves about how delicious they are. I also love how every time I step into this bakery, they always have something new! The women that own and run this gem are also the sweetest people. I have already told so many friends and family about this bakery and can't wait to keep ordering from here! So excited that I FINALLY found a place that knows how to satisfy my sweet tooth! The lady at the counter was very nice and the space is cute, but their selection is very limited and it’s expensive. Can’t believe I paid almost $7 dollars for a small cake jar. The cookies are good though.

I love trying new bakery’s so I was excited to try this place. Everything looks amazing! I tried a variety of their cookies, bars, and cookie cakes. I was a little disappointed with the taste and freshness. The items are huge so you do get your monies worth. I may be a bit critical but when I’m willing to shell out $5 for a cookie or bar I’m expecting something very special and fresh.

Came here for the 1st time today and tried 2 pieces of cake, a vanilla cake and a red velvet cheese cake. both were outstanding! I also ordered some custom cookies for my daughter's birthday. Can't wait to try them. Met the two owners, Hillary and Allison. They could not have been nicer. Both super helpful. Highly recommend this place.
I think my sweet tooth has found it's match with this amazing bakery in Highland Park. I definitely bought way more than I need but also not enough. The top hit are lemon bars, apple crisp, and the last salted pecan bar that melts in my mouth with the perfect bite of pecan. They offer seating in the shop to enjoy all the goods with Astra Coffee now available there as well. Thank you for such a wonderful experience and I will see you soon to explore what creations make it into the display case.

Sugarcoated has all the fun pastries your heart could desire! From edible cookie dough, to Nutella stuffed cookies, to the Ooey gooey salted caramel pecan bar. We picked up a few sweets for the next few days. We picked up a few lemon bars and Key lime tarts for our family dinner and they were an absolute hit. But the most memorable was the Salted Caramel Pecan bar..: if I could eat one thing forever and not gain any weight... they would be it! We came by on Saturday to pick up some delicious treats and had the pleasure of meeting the co-owners Ali and Hilary. Sweet as a button! Their passion for their shop is evident in the love they put into their pastries. The ladies were getting ready for Valentine's Day. They had premade cookie decorating kits, and ones to gift to friends. Super cute! Do note that it is street parking and they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. I already can't wait to come back and pick up a few more pecan bars! YUM!

I recent purchased the Hanukkah (gluten free) cookie decorating kit. We started a new family tradition. The cookies were absolutely delicious. The kit came with twelve cookies. There was plenty of frosting and sprinkles and colored sugar for at least eight more cookies. The whole family enjoyed the cookies and the decorating. I can't wait for the next holiday! We will definitely order again.
