Best deli sandwich I had ever
The hotel was only a half mile from the Chicago Botanic Garden which is where we were going to Lightscape. It was the perfect location, hotel was very clean and Rebekah the General Manager could not have been more helpful. I had a ticket issue which she resolved for me and she made sure I got the best room rate possible. All with a great smile on her face. I would highly recommend this hotel.
We were very impressed both times we stayed at this property over the last couple months. Even while they were under construction, the staff was very accommodating and helpful. On both occasions we were recognized as reward members and provided rooms that met our needs. We were especially appreciative that the rooms were renovated with updated amenities. We have found our go-to property whenever we are in the area for Ravinia or the Botanical Garden.
I have stayed 100. Times at Marriott because my daughter lives in Highlsnd Park and we been going to visit her and our 2 grandchildren since 1997. The Bistro is the small restaurant in the lobby. Simple but delicious food. Carryout to the room is available. TV and musical selections available .Being on the road is wearing and to re lax is priority. The Highland Park Marriott is across from Chicago Botanical Gardens and Ravinia Center.
Awesome spot...Loved everything about it.
Very consistent with all of the other Courtyards. Pleasant staff, clean facility and room and set back off the main street so nice and quiet. Very close to local restaurants, shopping and major roadways.
The hotel itself met the expectation of the Marriott Courtyard brand. The Bistro food is good, the rooms are clean, etc. The big upside to this particular location was the friendliness of the staff. They were really great. Very helpful, made the stay personal and just improved the overall experience.
Perfectly situated between two northern suburbs where I had business meetings, this Courtyard was the most economical Marriott property with free parking within reasonable distance of the city on the dates I traveled. The building is a bit dated, the toilet is so low it forces you into an uncomfortable albeit healthy deep squatting position and I am always a little wary of any property adjacent to a convienience store, but to be fair I had a pleasant 2 night stay. Initially flummoxed by the absence of coffee in the lobby (apart from Starbucks for purchase) the front desk quickly dispensed as many packets as needed for my room. The bed was extremely comfortably and apart from one car alarm sleep was easy. There is a decent deli and liquor store around the corner and you are in sniffing distance of Morton Grove home of two of the best Chicago style pizza joints around, Berts and Pequods. That alone is worth a couple of stars. I'd have no problem staying at this property again.
While breakfast isn't included in the room rate, the price point for The Bistro isn't bad (comparable with Panera). I ordered a platter to go, and it was cooked fresh for me before I could finish the first article of the complimentary paper. The breakfast potatoes were impressive, and "over easy" fried eggs turned out just right. Somewhat limited coffee selection. Convenient for business travelers.
Compared to the location near the airport this location food does not compare. Smaller portions, bacon was was soggy uncooked looking. Three stars because the server forgot something causing me to come all the way back. They did proved a free fruit cup for my inconvenience.
