Bartenders are super slow

We made a reservation here before a show because the menu listed online said there would be Spanish / Mediterranean food. We got there and it was a Pan Asian buffet. The food was not great. The outside seating area looked nice but we were sat inside and it was just ok as far as atmosphere. The website also advertised a charcuterie spread, and there was not much left when we arrived. We asked if there would be more and we were told no. As we wrapped up eating, they restocked the charcuterie but we had already finished up.The waiter was nice but overcharged us for drinks. When we tried to get it fixed there was quite a bit of confusion as to how to remove the extra drink charge. My credit card statement does not match what the manager had told me would happen.Overall a not great experience. We definitely won’t return.

The atmosphere is great. The food was good. The theme was Southern BBQ. My brother loved the pozole! Keeping in mind that it’s a buffet. The manager, Brandon was excellent. He is very caring and attentive. Evelyn, our server, was warm and super friendly. My brother and I had a great time. The staff is the restaurant’s greatest asset.

Save your money ...it's buffet and not much on choices ..they served Asian the night we were there ..fried rice and vegetarian poke was served with undercooked rice (unacceptable)...there were some good salad selections ... charcuterie was ok .. desserts were ok ..nothing spectacular... it almost felt like everything was store bought not made on premise ...big disappointment...and service was horrendous! ..waiting forever for our check! Need to train your waitstaff ...our waitress was very nice but didn't know what she was doing
We came with a group of friends to have dinner prior to the Gipsy Kings concert. We had an amazing time at Tree Top. There were several food stations that were constantly refreshed. They had a delicious trout, tapas, salads, cheese boards...too many choices to pick from. Also, the dessert station was delightful. The highlight of our dinner was our waiter. Peter was extremely attentive, charismatic and kind. Top notch service! We will definitely be back before our concerts.
The server and manager were really great to serve our special request. Food was upscale and delicious though not too many “vegan” options. Definitely a go to experience to dine-in while being in Ravinia park for concerts or festivals.
Nice atmosphere and buffet presentation but the food itself was very mediocre. All dishes that were supposed to be hot were lukewarm at best and cold at worst. The “fresh” veggies on the charcuterie board did not look fresh (e.g., dark spots on the cauliflower where it was cut). The blueberry pie was quite good but you risked chipping a tooth on the pecan pie tartlet. Very disappointing for the upscale nature of the venue and the price. The manager did come to speak with us and apologized for the experience which was appreciated, but doesn’t change the quality concern.
A friend and I ate at Tree Top Restaurant at Ravinia before a concert last night. It is a buffet. The entrees were not good. The beef sliders, sliced beef, grilled vegetables and fish were all cold. The only slightly warm items were the Buffalo and barbecued wings and smashed potatoes. The salads, cheese, salami, and crackers were okay. But, what can you do to them? The desserts were good. But, if you wanted just a warm, not a hot entree, you were out of luck. I know it is hard to keep buffet items warm, but this has been a problem at Ravinia for some time. For $36.95 eat somewhere else. We like Ravinia but we will never go back to Tree Top Restaurant again. It's not worth the price.
Nice place, however food is way below expectation for price they charge.
Food was good, servers polite.

We thought we would try the Tree Top since most of the reviews were old. There really is nothing good to report except the atmosphere. Food quality was poor. Roast beef was so rare I believe I heard a MOO. Sad that is one of 2 main proteins and can’t be eaten. Also, don’t bother late in the season - draft beer is gone and won’t be replaced at this time. For what you pay $35 buffet, you can get better everywhere else! Anywhere else. Won’t be giving them a third try ...last year was way better. DOWNHILL. SAD.
My friend and I were nicely surprised by this new restaurant. Not only were the views lovely, but the food stations (with one exception) were bountifully and creatively full of delicious offerings. We were slightly disappointed by the dessert station which didn't have the variety of the other stations. Nothing for chocolate lovers and nothing like ice cream or sorbet. We found something for dessert but it was anticlimactic. Experience was terrific though, as was our waiter, Ralph. Jan
I made the reservation without knowing it was a buffet only restaurant (my error). The food was good but not what I was hoping for that evening. At $35 a head plus drinks it is a bit pricey for a casual dining space. The best part is the patio above the the concert goers. Wonderful people watching.
Salad and main course were good but the dessert bar was disappointing (not very tasty and the cobblers were not even warm). Drinks were overpriced (my non-alcoholic drink was $12) and many of the plates and glasses were not completely clean.
