So far loved e everything i have got on the menu. The new owners are very nice people and went way out of their way to create a special moment for our family when my fiance found a wedding dress. With only 20 min notice, they were able to set up a table for the occasion. I simply asked them for a little note saying congratulations on saying yes to the dress as a surprise for my fiancé and they pulled off much more than that including balloons and flowers. It made a good day i to a great day. We had 4 guests that were first time visitors and they loved the food. Great job and thank you.

New owner Oscar completely ruined this place. I don't mind the changes inside the restaurant with the extra TVs and bigger bar, but they completely ruined everything that made the menu unique and special. Went from serving high-quality German/British-inspired foods like Fish & Chips, Shepard's Pie and Schnitzel to the same boring burgers and pizza that you can get anywhere in Highland.

This place is now called Big Os. Service was sketchy but the food was OK. Our waiter was not very attentive even though the place was not very busy. We miss the old Schlafley!

So disappointed to see that this has changed from somewhere we can get German inspired food to an establishment with sub mediocre bar food. Any tasteful interior decor has been shed and now it just feels like a tacky sports bar. It was an awful experience and we will never be returning. I read an article after we left that the new manager(owner?) changed things to appeal to what highland residents wants but clearly he is clueless on what we want. Many of us have a strong German /Swiss heritage and I think we were happy to have Schlafly the way it was and his assumptions and remarks are an insult.

The patio is super nice and pretty. The food was not good, but they did have an interesting menu and drink menu. We had the greasy pretzel bites that were almost too salty to eat and flavorless burgers. The service was the absolute worst. They had one waitress for the whole patio and she wasn’t sure how to complete more than one task at a time. I felt bad for her because she clearly wasn’t appropriately trained. She refused to make eye contact with our table. Instead of just acknowledging us and stating that she would be with us shortly, she completely ignored us despite us trying to flag her down. I understand being patient, but it’s not okay to have customers wait 18 minutes before being acknowledged.

I used to absolutely LOVE this place. It’s very sad watching it go so downhill after 3 years of a successful business. The new head manager soon to be owner has destroyed schlafly. The food is absolutely nothing compared to what it used to be. Over salted, switched recipes, and so many changes. Oscar the new manager treats his employees extremely bad and clearly has no passion for the business. They have lost many loyal employees due to his management and loyal customers. I’m very disappointed, but please do not give this man your business anymore.

I used to really enjoy this restaurant. It’s very unfortunate that Oscar became the new manager. The changes he has made are absolutely going to ruin/ lead to it ultimately shutting down. The food used to be good quality and made with high end ingredients and he switched everything to cheap ingredients and clearly isn’t a good chef. He also fired most of the original employees that have been working for 3+ years with no explanation or reason. I will never support a man with no integrity or respect for employees that have the passion to work and have been working for longer than he has been there.
