We've been coming to Miramar since it first opened and it's always been excellent. The food is delicious, the service is fantastic and the restaurant itself is very pretty and welcoming.

The waiter forgot the order, then only brought one drink. Forgot to take my husbands order. We were only 2 people. Rude temperament to my husband. It's a first time we had such terrible service. Plus order was wrong when delivered. we go there all the time. We requested a certain table and the response was , “oh yeah I read that in the notes. The head waiter was very nice but our waiter and other staff were over whelmed and seriously rude. They didn't value us and were treated poorly. Very disappointed and shared it with our friends who indicated they recently had issues as well. It's a very small community. Cheryl Levin 847-525-7104.

This was our first visit in a while and we're reminded of how good the food and service are. The kitchen and service staff really excel.

The food is really outstanding and I love the atmosphere. Our waiter was a bit crabby but that's ok

The food is always solid here as well as the service. Great atmosphere as well. A favorite of ours!

Everything on the menu looked fire. Plus, what we ordered delivered. Specials were creative, classics were solid, and my stomach left very satisfied. I got the mac and cheese, and let me tell you that they turned “simple comfort food” into a gourmet main event. That cheese stretch? Straight NASA-level! It went so far.

The outdoor patio had a perfect sunset view, which made the whole vibe feel like vacation mode. Service was on point too. My water glass was rarely empty (I am huge on refills because I love my H2O).

Overall, Miramar Bistro nails flavor, service, and scenery. 11/10 would recommend. And bring your appetite (the desert is filling and scrumptious too)

Miramar Bistro is one of those places I find myself coming back to again and again, mainly because of the atmosphere. The mood is incredible—dim lighting, candles on the tables, and a really nice indoor/outdoor flow that makes it feel both cozy and lively at the same time. It’s the kind of place that feels perfect for any occasion. As far as the food goes, the mussels are excellent and always hit the spot, and the onion soup is rich and flavorful. The burger is another solid choice that’s hard not to recommend. That said, I’d probably steer clear of the salmon and the Caesar salad, which haven’t impressed me. Still, with the combination of ambiance and a few dishes done really well, Miramar Bistro definitely earns a spot on my list of regular go-tos.

First time here, and probably the last for my wife and me. Everyone else in our party seemed impressed, but for the price, I expected to be blown away. Dinner for 7 was over $1,000 (before tip), and honestly, it just didn’t deliver. Service was fine, presentation was nice, but the food was just… okay. My linguine and clams came out lukewarm, and my wife’s Italian crepes were basically a bowl of sauce with limp pasta floating in it. Drinks, on the other hand, were solid. We were here for a birthday party, and the birthday girl was happy- that’s what mattered most. For me though, the hype didn’t live up to the bill.

Fish was not fresh. The broth on the mussels was wonderful, but the mussels themselves were tasteless. Twotop table was very small.Could barely fit the dining plates let alone anything that was served. The waitstaff was very attentive and tried their best.

The French Onion Soup is a cheesy highlight. Intriguing music matches the French-forward atmosphere. Solid and popular menu, outdoor seating with doors opening to the sidewalk, romantic touches like dripping tapers at each table. An energetic neighborhood spot.

Miramar is an absolute gem in Highwood. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a charming mix of French elegance and cozy bistro vibes.

I ordered the Nicoise salad, and it was fresh, vibrant, and beautifully plated—perfectly cooked tuna, crisp greens, and just the right balance of flavors in the dressing. The crab cake was another highlight: generously packed with sweet, tender crab meat, lightly crisp on the outside, and served with a sauce that complemented it perfectly without overpowering it.

Service was excellent—attentive and friendly without feeling rushed. Whether you’re there for a quick lunch, a relaxing dinner, or to celebrate something special, Miramar always delivers a memorable experience.

Highly recommend both the crab cake and the Nicoise salad—you can’t go wrong!
