'Seemed a bit over-priced for the quality of food. Dine-in service was slow. We're trying other Mexican cuisine options in the area - there are many.

We discovered Chacahua Mexican Restaurant after repeated disappointments elsewhere. Usually we like to have a friend’s recommendation, but after driving by often on our way to town, we gave Chacahua a shot….and they didn’t disappoint!! The pico de gallo and chicken mole were both superb, obviously homemade. 💕💕

I say check this place out if you want excellent Mexican Food in Highwood, Illinois. 👏👏

Overpriced for the quality of food. Service was decent and the waitress replaced some food that was undercooked for us. But overall not a good experience

If you haven’t tried the Molcajete at Chacahua, we need to talk. It’s a game changer. You get a hot stone bowl that comes out sizzling like it's mad at you. It’s got the right balance of smoky, savory, and spicy, and if you’ve got a friend with you, good luck sharing it. It’s so good you might fight over the last bite.

But here’s the thing: the food’s only half the battle. The service? Oh, it’s on point. You’re not gonna be left sitting there wondering where your waiter went. The staff’s friendly, they’re on it, and they make sure you’ve got everything you need without hovering. It’s smooth. You feel like they got your back, and when the Molcajete hits the table, you know they did their job.

So, if you’re looking for a place to eat where the food’s phenomenal and the service has your back? Chacahua’s the place. Trust me, you’ll thank me later.

If your looking for Mexican seafood this is the place. The food and the service is amazing. Our server Yuri was incredible she took care of my table of 12 people and did an excellent job. Very tending to our needs and requests super friendly. Definitely recommend her. The food is grate and their natural fruit juice bar is to die for.

The food is excellent and a measure apart from standard taco/enchilada fare. Very friendly & attentive waitstaff. The handmade tortillas were just the right chewy, with fresh ingredients. Came here and sat outside with our 3 small dogs and 2 teenage boys. Family & pet friendly sitting outside with reasonable prices. Highly recommend anything with the mole. Will come back again for sure.

Absolutely incredible Oaxacan food—the mole is next-level, rich and perfectly balanced with deep, complex flavors. You can taste the tradition in every bite. Warm atmosphere, authentic vibe, and great service. Don’t miss The Taluda—it adds a subtle touch of magic to the whole experience. A must-visit!
