Food was great, haven't had a meal priced this low in a long time. Everything tasted home cooked. This isn't close to home but we travel this way a lot and will make this a frequent stop. Marked down one star due to it was very stuffy inside.
A big thank you to Hillview Cafe! Our track & field team from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA was competing at Illinois College in Jacksonville, IL on a Friday evening this past April. The track meet was scheduled to go late into the evening and most food options would be closed by the time we were done. We reached out to see if Hillview Cafe would cater our team meal. Only one waitress she was running her butt off. The place was busy. Our fresh fries was way over cooked and cold. Our chicken livers was way over cooked they was crusty with no liver taste. We didn’t say anything to the waitress because the place was packed. We won’t be back for a long time. But the prices was great.

Hillview Cafe, now Heavy Eddie's, offers wonderful food in a classic small-town setting. The cafe has excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere. The well-lit, clean space serves delicious homemade desserts. The menu includes outstanding fish, burgers, and specials, making it a must-stop spot for a taste of traditional small-town dining.
