We were there with our family of 19. No complaints with the food and service but then we were charged a $20 extra fee for using our charge card. I feel this was excessive and unnecessary so we will find a new bbq place for our family gathering.
Took the whole family, they accommodated our group of 10 easily and our service was great! Our server, Sierra, was attentive and made great menu recommendations. The food was amazing! The kitchen did a great job getting our large order out timely and all together. Even though you get plenty of food save room for the Fried Cheesecake! The decor, music and whole atmosphere is retro and family friendly. We had the best time with the whole staff and will definitely bring more friends and family back with us next time!
We've always enjoyed South Moon, but recently it's been nothing but a disappointment. Last time we ordered BBQ ribs, and they were petrified and inedible. We didn't complain because we thought it was just a fluke. Tonight we ordered pulled pork sandwiches (among other items,) and we received no sauce. The sandwiches were so dry we couldn't eat them as we had no BBQ sauce at home (we always order online to-go.) This time, we called. The woman who answered apologized and asked me if we live nearby to come and get the sauce (we do not.) She apologized again and said she'd talk to whoever packed the order. I explained that I wanted a credit, and she said she'd give us extra sauce next time. This seems unacceptable considering we couldn't eat the dry pulled pork sandwiches we just ordered, paid for, and drove 25 miles round trip to pick-up. This is the second time in a row we couldn't eat the food we paid for from here. We won't be going back for a third strike. Additionally, they need someone with better customer service skills answering calls concerning orders. Offering us extra BBQ sauce next time we order doesn't make the sandwiches we ordered tonight edible and less dry. Why would there be a next time? We've already wasted over $55 on these last two visits. No, thanks to the extra sauce.
The place is cute inside and the girl who checked us out was nice, but I was very disappointed by the food we got tonight. Maybe we ordered at a bad time, but the ribs were almost inedible they were so hard and dry. Literally looked and tasted like they sat under a heater for a day. The Mac and cheese was some weird Mostaccioli and pork with a smokey flavor, but I didn't see or taste any cheese. It was also old and dry. We got pork belly which was pretty good, but that was really the only decent thing we got. I was really looking forward to trying this place, but we were very let down.

South moon barbecue is absolutely the coolest restaurant ever. The outside is plain, but when entered its a collectors paradise.
Been here 5x now and everything i get the pulled pork sandwich. It's down right delicious every time. Tons of meat on the sandwich, has never been dry, tons of good fries, plenty of sweet barbecue sauce. Plenty of delicious food to fill you up. Staff is always super friendly, place is clean and prices are fair. Place so far has not disappointed. Great Job South Moon!!

Upon entering the facility, I noticed how packed and busy it was. I waited patiently and I as soon as the server swung by to the front, I asked if I can sit at the bar if there was a seat. She kindly said yes. Luckily there was a seat in between some customers. Th couple sitting next to me were amazing and I felt so comfortable around them. Friendly, they are! The gentleman on my right was cool too! Not knowing what to get, I asked the two customers and they more than helped me with a few suggestion.
Overall: Great food and great folks! For sure coming back to try the ribs!
Parking: It was quite busy the day I went but it wasn’t difficult to find parking.

First time I've been back in 3 years, I used to love this place recommended it to so many people I even used it for catering quite a few times. This last time I went I purchased burnt ends and ribs and they were absolutely awful everything was dry and tough it was such an utter disappointment and a waste of money I will never come here again.

Stopped in yesterday for dinner and tried ordering burnt ends, but was told they were out of them, so I had a smoked chicken salad, it was dry and not worth the price, wasn’t happy at all

Excellent BBQ + friendly staff + great beer and soda selections! The retro video arcade with arcade and pinball machines was an added bonus that my kiddo couldn't stay away from!!

Stopped in for dinner with my husband today because we've been looking for actual good BBQ in the DeKalb area. This is hands down the best place we've found, the prices are more than fair and the portions are fairly large as well.
That atmosphere is nice too, all the old toys and arcade machines around you. If you're in the area or just looking for good BBQ out here, give them a shot.
