Today (Sunday 9-28-2025) is the second time I've dined here; I dined here last Sunday 9-21! I love this place! An Indian coworker of mine (she's from New Delhi), recommended Kritunga--and she was spot-on with her recommendation! I came here both times for their lunch buffet, which is huge! There are 20 options to choose from! Most of them are vegetarian options, but there are at least 4 or 5 chicken options (including Butter Chicken, Chicken Biryani, and 2 other chicken dishes)! There is also 1 hearty, delicious fish curry dish, plus soft, warm and fresh naan bread! I do wish they had lamb and/or goat options, but no big deal! The employees here are very pleasant, efficient and quick! The restaurant is elegantly and understatedly decorated, and has an airy, roomy ambiance! Plus it has a lot of comfortable seating options including nice red leather cushioned booths against 1 wall! Plus, it's sparkling clean throughout the restaurant! I would definitely come back for their non-buffet days! I actually used to dine at this same location over a decade ago when it was called Thumka! It was great to see that Kritunga is continuing the tradition of serving hearty, delicious and authentic Indian cuisine! Not many Indian restaurants are having buffets due to the COVID pandemic--I'm so grateful Kritunga is able to do so!! The buffet for adults is $18.99; for kids it's $12.99. Also: on buffet days, you cannot order off their regular menu. The buffet is your only dining option during those days. (I personally don't care because the buffet has a ton of delicious options and is good enough for me!)

The food is the real star here. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and authenticity, from the perfectly spiced biryanis to the comforting curries and fresh dosas. The spice levels were just right, and you can tell the chefs put real care into balancing taste with tradition. Portions are generous, making it perfect for sharing with family or friends.
The service was equally impressive. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations for dishes we hadn’t tried before. They truly made us feel like valued guests.
If you’re looking for authentic Andhra-style cuisine in the Chicagoland area, Kritunga Schaumburg is hands-down the place to go. It’s a perfect spot for both casual dinners and special occasions, and I can’t wait to go back to explore more of their menu.

I briefly stepped in to try for take out. My first time. I’ve been looking for a proper Indian restaurant not too far from Elgin and I believe I have found it! I went safe with Butter chicken, garlic naan and chicken Kritunga sankati. I have to know how a place does something I’m familiar with before going in deep. And it was the best version of Butter chicken I’ve had in a spell! Naan was adorned with lotsa garlic. And Sankati is probably better in house but also very tasty. This will be my new “go to” Indian place closest to Elgin. Looking forward to trying other dishes and happy to hear recommendations.

Worst experience. We came here all the way from Indianapolis. Food isn’t upto the mark. In the google, they mentioned the restaurant will be closed at 3pm. But, when we go there at 2:33pm, the kitchen is already closed except the biryani’s. They have to mention 2:30pm in google as the chef will not be available. We ordered pachimirchi chicken biryani and gongura mutton biryani. Both are worst. Bad experience.

Ordered chicken fry biryani. Worst experience.
Biryani rice is not properly cooked and had a raw flavor. Chicken smelled like raw meat. Not ordering again.
